Yeah, if I had outdoor lights, that's how I would probably do it. Get them up in late October or early November when I don't need to worry about ice and snow but just keep them off until an appropriate time. I get a bit crabby when I see someone's Christmas lights go on the moment their jack o'lantern disappears. There's Christmas spirit and then there's wasting hydro. We usually get our lights up shortly after Halloween as its all about finding the nice weather.
Some of it is just safety. We have our front lights in a timer, so porch and ones beside the garage door turn on every night. Our Christmas lights aren't attached yet. Some people do switch out those bulbs for Christmas. Plus the permanent app style lights are common here. I think those are efficient? I like walking late, and appreciate lights regardless of style. The street lights aren't enough and many are motion sensored for vehicles not pedestrians.Yeah, if I had outdoor lights, that's how I would probably do it. Oh Hugs, GiancarloZ! I'd wondered how you were doing? Early parenthood is such an exhausting but precious time (and the first is just sorta magical).
Congratulations! Pop in occasionally, please, to update us!
Happy hugs to you all. Hope Leonor adjusts well to life outside her nest.
