Great news about the job waiting @Mendalla

It seems like.yesterday (almost) that Little M was heading off to university
It seems like almost yesterday that he was starting school . Someone on my writing board with a four year old (I remember her posts back when she gave birth) was commenting on how fast her daughter was growing up and, yeah, they really do, don't they.

Took a bike ride this morning, then watched an interesting video by a writer and influencer (yes, that's basically a career path now) I sometimes watch on Youtube about "9 things I didn't expect when I got published". Her second novel is in pre-order right now and her first just came out in paperback so I guess these things are still fresh in her mind. She also talks a bit about things she did differently for the second novel after her experiences on the first.

I too have noticed Pilgrim's absence. I've been assuming she is busy cheering up the many people who seem to be in Covid Protection mode down under.

Good morning, all! Happy Labour Day! As we rejoice in job offers, mull over how fast kids grow up, and think about friends we haven't heard from for awhile, let us gather in spirit round the coffee cart, for warming beverages and community building.

Job offers??? No way ... I'm suffering from passing time ... and chronic fatigue disorder ... physically, mentally and emotionally to the point that I feel I am losing my function to care ... and thus I Carious off ... like that chap in myth with feathers detaching ... dislocation of Pense ... all laid out ... extreme rites of failure? Must be recorded in the log ... a gleaming time or Star Date?

Is Bulgur not something that's common to find? Was thinking of doing some sort of Tabbouleh inspired salad to use some tomatoes. I can't find it to add it into a grocery order though.
Googling only shows Bob's Red Mill as an option for buying it and I have noticed over the years selection of their products has been reduced I figured bulgur would be available in a no name or 'ethnic' brand though too.
Do I need to search for another name?

May just end up using quinoa or something if I can't get it. I'm vaguely considering picking up barley too, although I have never cooked with barley before, no idea how that would work - only had it in prepared soup.

Suggestions are welcome.

I'd use quinoa as a sub, personally. Barley is a "larger" grain that doesn't work as well with the the taboulleh type veg/herbs.

Thanks! Quinoa I am way more familiar with. I may play with the barley as a salad too, but will try seeking out recipes before just throwing things in.

Good morning! As the school year begins for a lot of people today, as the summer has unofficially come to a closing point, let us gather round the coffee cart. As we ponder tomato recipes and ingredients to add/ avoid, and find other topics of interest, let us enjoy hot beverages of all kinds.

And suddenly we're now saddled with a severe thunderstorm watch. Tornado warning has vanished.

And in the "stupid things to do" department, the eczema on my arms is currently very bad. So what do I do this afternoon? Out in the back weedlot, cutting down the perpetual maple saplings, the eternal burdock, and a wade or two into the nettle patch. Many burrs got tangled in my short-sleeved t-shirt. If I was itchy before, I would now like a completely new skin...please...

Happy Wednesday! As we deal with storms and ongoing skin conditions, and plan for the day ahead, let us pause to gather and regroup around the coffee cart. Everything is ready, help yourself.

In such gatherings could thoughts be shared ... or just numb word! There are so many misunderstood words below the horizon of vision that sets limits on the vanishing point ... off the razor's edge?

Who can cut through that blackout! There are myths about that person ... a super folk!

Good morning. Today is a travel day and tomorrow we sail. We have our sites booked and have to take our chances on the boat. Reservations are sold out.

Amazing that reservations are sold out! Fingers crossed that you will get on. Well, if not - I suppose you have somewhere to sleep at least!

They only have so many reservations. We'll get on a ferry. We're going to head over in the morning and hope to not have to wait long.
