Got my first walk of 2021 in this afternoon (don't tell my boss ;) ). Lovely day here. A bit of cloud but high around 17 with intermittent sun. Just wore my light spring jacket over a short-sleeved golf shirt.

Just got back from a long-ish walk with the hound. I had rather over-dressed, which is a nice change.

And Hurray! for Nancy, for ability to get out and about again!

I tried out spikes on my shoes for the first time. Bought them a while ago and just never headed out before when I felt like it was worthwhile. Didn't feel great walking on sidewalks especially at first. Once the spikes wore down a bit it was better. Still though best for ice or grass.

Good morning! This day we celebrate the restoration of mobility, and the simple pleasures of taking a walk, which many of us take too much for granted. Let us gather round the cart in joy.

Spikes are indeed best on snow, ice and grassy areas. Several people in this community fell when stepping into a store with a tiled floor. The spikes skidded on the totally smooth tiles - not funny!

Good reminder to remove them. Our grocery store has to have a sign up saying no ski boots in the store. Every year , not just this year. Hard bottomed boots slide out on the tile floors

beware the ditches. Tried to jump over what I thought was two feet of water. Was actually four feet of icy water running under the snow. Sank up to my waist in freezing water. Luckily hubby was there to pull me out

The very best shoes with traction are those where you can flip the spikes out, then embed them back in the boot before you encounter hard pavement or tile/indoor floors, like Pajar. I have a very active, but also very careful, 91 year old friend who swears by them.

I couldn't get these on myself, not sure if I can get them off. I plan on just leaving them on a pair of shoes for walks.

I fell and hit my head walking from the bathroom to my room about 15 minutes ago. I have been holding a bag of frozen veggies on my head, except for right now while I write. I saw “sparks” for a second. It wasn’t a little bump. I hit my head pretty hard. basically hit the top of it on the wall/ doorframe in front of me. My skull is bruised, there’s a sore bump, and I have a slight headache. I’m really scared to go to the hospital, if I go at all. Especially alone. I can’t wake anybody up. I don’t know what to do. I’ve known to go to the ER in the past but I’m terrified now. I don’t want to go anywhere near the inside of a hospital alone. Stay awake for 6 hours and see if anything worse happens? I think that’s still standard advice for mild concussions. I guess that’s what I’m doing. By that time I can call somebody to go with me if I have to. Does the time one takes antidepressant or anti anxiety meds before hitting their head make any difference? Maybe that’s a stupid question - but the meds work on the brain.

I’m not necessarily dizzy. I am tired but it’s 3:30 am and I’ve felt extra tired from the C7 emotional distress for a few days. I can think fairly clearly considering. It’s Friday March 12 (without checking). I know my name, my birthday, where I am. I’m not seeing double. I’m probably ok? I wish I could go to sleep but I think I should wait.

A couple of more defined goose-eggs are forming in the sore region of my skull/ scalp. They’re small.

Ouch. Not the way you'd want to start a day, for sure. Even if it seems to be clearing up, I'd suggest that, when you can, you have it looked at, either in ER or your GP if possible. We'll keep the tea water hot, and the coffee fresh, for you

Did you knw there are guilds that repress thought and knowledge ... thus headaches for those the store them in regression ...

These are often in regression due to the sublime repression as pieces of eight ... it may appear as a star in the darkness! * with additional points!

It is suspected that this may go on in abstract zones that are unreal to the determined realists that believe not in extended logos ... thus purely physical folks will deny the sole as imaginary! Go figure ...

I once was told by a powerful physical person that he was Mastermind ... little did he know of the item he couldn't get his head around and thus it sunk in unconsciously ...

@Kimmio , hope that you are having a good snooze. I find after a fall like that it is the longer term soreness from the jarring that just seems to go on & on. Hope that you aren't too sore today.

I’ve heard it’s not safe to sleep right away in case of seizure or something. Or to keep waking up a person periodically. That’s what I always understood. No one in my real life environment knows I hit my head yet, though, and I’m here alone. Maybe I can set a timer or alarm to go off every 30 min and just snooze in little segments?
