I finally realized that to turn this one off, you have to press and HOLD the button marked with the power icon. Just pressing it toggles the band between AM and FM.
 
I have no TV, there are two clickers still sitting in a kitty container on the arm of a loveseat, to items I no longer own.

My car is old and still plays CDs. Equally my desktop. I don't think anything I own has a remote. Many things, however, need to be charged, and that seems to be my particular problem. The next thing I need is inevitably not charged.

Doesn't have to be that old. My 2015 Civic has a CD player. I wasn't using it much. Easier to rip my CDs and stream the files to the car stereo from my phone using Bluetooth. The Civic, however, currently resides in the nation's capital.
 
Mine is old. 12 years old this year, and that's stretching the limits of modern cars these days; I know I have to start looking around. It's been a really low-maintenance vehicle. Only has 150K on it, and I'm really easy on brakes. Think it might need some exhaust work soon, but runs like a top. I probably should do the exhaust, buy a new car, and give this one to my daughter.
 
When I say things like this or admit to my lack of tech savvy I remind myself of my oarents who were sure that bank cards were a bad thing and could never figure it out. Every visit home I seemed to reprogram the vcr. They had one of those stereo hi fi cabinets. Had a few dozen albums. But it was too much bother to put records away and get new ones out. So they just kept the same stack of six records on it and played them. I don’t think they ever even turned them over. I would also change the records for them on my visits home

and now I am like that. We drove to Toronto to deliver Xmas gifts and we both found ourselves going “ wow, this corner looks so different......”. My parents constantly said it

when they re did the Yonge exit off the gardner it opened when we were away. The first time I drove downtown it surprised me so much. I couldn’t figure out what road I was on. Lol
 
I remember having to tape the clicker buttons, so that my father wouldn't hit the wrong ones.
Also put little beads on his phone, and on his microwave, so that he could figure out where buttons were.

My car is 10+ years aold, with 130km. It has served me well. I anticipate having it for at least one year.

I have usually kept mine on the road for 10-11 years of late. And both my 04 Civic and 06 CRV were still in good shape when we replaced them with newer models of the same. We replaced them for other reasons than wear.
 
Is taped up like inhibited as we may find empathy lost to the greater populace ... and further than that we don't know because of inhibition (restricted knowledge).

We didn't wish this as unavailable nous (to us that is) as the powers wished ... beneath that certain subtleties not known to the top guns ...

Identifies some things that are going ... as forced out ... we do appear to dislike intellect and alien statistics, data and information!

I try and demonstrate this regularly ... consequence: ignore functions are activated ... widely dispersed I am told ...

Yet I was bound to say that ... due to being out and about ... like that chap selling his old cow for beans ...

Can one enjoy nothing except to know that it is accepted only when the awareness of something is gone?

If something is gone and excluded ... is it a dogging concern about that which isn't? My grand father had words for such process ... yet in the meantime ... that's how it went!

Wee folk gather to drink to such nonsense ... accepting we have no sense of nothing other than absence, or the abstract sense ... Dark Ness?

It is a weird pool as displayed by inky wells and dark un seen ... deficient by contrast? It may appear as writ; defining holy stuff on the matrix!

Stress test did not go well ... any further activity put off by Covid demands ...

Doesn't bother me much as the crack in the great system may allow my way beyond this HS! Fracture in the Liberty Bell? Few know that bell is a a word as demonic escape ... in a word!

Sorry to hear about the stress test not going well Luce NDs. It's such a challenging time. Reading your prior posts about Darkness ... yesterday John Pentland preached on Darkness & Light - that we (societally) tend to look upon Darkness as a bad thing - but he was suggesting that Darkness AND Light are important partners - that we need features of each to appreciate the other.

Good morning all. A bit of gentle snow here. Nice cup of coffee while I look out the window from the comfort of the livingroom and listen to the pilleated woodpeckers and nuthatches.
 
Omg. You have pileated woodpeckers ? How wonderful. Such a cool bird. One of my favourites. On your walks check trees for large D shaped holes, that is the pileated woodpecker getting food.

another cold but fairly agreeable day here. Enjoy the day everyone. Don’t know about you but I am finding myself affected by Trump fatigue. He really needs to go
