Then there is herring ... in schools they can overwhelm as AD one ... sometimes shifted to alone as "D" and "L" are sometimes substituted in slips ...

My Dad turned me on to herring at a very early age. He ate dried, smoked ones like jerky (I like those) and also "rollmop" pickled herring, which I don't care for. Awful salty though. Dad was from Nova Scotia and ate pretty much anything that came from the sea. Lately, I'm using more Dulse (seaweed) and trying different kinds of fish. I was looking at the whole halibuts at the store and thinking they couldn't break anyone's arm. Didn't say it out loud. :cool:
 
I love fresh herring (even when it has been frozen). It disappeared from my local stores about 1990 and never returned. One of the many ways the quality of my life has declined through no fault of my own.

Orange cup today I think. I love orange as a colour.....sparingly.
Sunny start to the day. Looks like we aren't going to feel much impact from Isaias though. Really hot week ahead.

Had vacay last week and just a little stunt of yesterday and today back to work- colleagues were doing their best to deal with my unit, but some loose ends needed to be tied. Then everything came up to deal with today afternoon, and no assistant to help. When I left a phone message for tomorrow I had to attend to it three times. I felt bad going on vacay, leaving so much to do..... but...there will be a time I am in the same boat....
 
Good morning all! The coffee cart is up and running, Vacation time is here for many of us... may it bring a relaxing break, as we can step out of routine for a bit; may it make us ready to return with new energy. Nothing to feel guilty about.

Joining in the coffee break with you, Red, before I get out to shovel some dirt in the garden. NS is finally getting rid of the humidity for a few days, Making temperatures and outdoors activities more bearable. Tomorrow planning to drive down to Kejimakujik park to paddle among the turtles on Mersey river.
