Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

Too many people here with pain, poor health care, tiredness, etc. so I'm sending warm wishes and a plate/bowl/glass of whatever you each think will comfort you. There are plenty of prayer shawls for you to choose from. Will you pick one in your favourite colour or is the stitch pattern more important to you?

Be well everyone and feel free to cuddle a non allergenic puppy on your lap. :dog::dog::dog::dog::dog:

I bet that will be a great way to spend some time. People share and others learn. Someone I know told her group of people with the same challenges that she is exhausted after showering and getting dressed. Someone else suggested - shower and sit around in a toweling robe until you dry and get dressed when you feel up to it. Sometimes we just don't think of everything!

I made it to the work Christmas party last night - it was in a hotel that is about 5 minutes away, right off the main road that requires us to pretty much get anywhere else. I sat in a chair the entire time, it was buffet, Chemguy got my food for me. Was out for about 1.5 hours.
It was good to get out of the house. I was also encourage to walk and info says most only need a day or 2 off work, so I thought going out wouldn't be a horrible idea. I wore a long, cozy Christmas sweater and leggings, no dressing up.

Today I am sore. Not to the same level as Tuesday but definitely worse than yesterday. I'm really frustrated by this. Like what part of going out to a party and sitting in a chair almost the entire time was overdoing it? Getting in and out of the vehicle - with Chemguy's help? At the time that felt ok.

Yup, I hear you. i did the same thing, felt good at the time, now I am worried I overdone it. It is difficult to judge sometimes and being cooped up just gets you down, too. Good you have MrChemgal to hold you back, sounds like you need it.

I can offer my elderly 'almost bichon'. Tucker enjoys lazing around (unless we are out in the country, he REALLY likes camping). A lap is good, so is a pillow or dog bed.

I'll lend my non allergenic 'puppy' ...soon to be 14 years old....named "Faith". She talks like Scooby Doo.

Does she crave Scooby Snacks, too? If so, might want to check your attic for ghosts and meddling teenagers.

No dog to contribute, save this virtual one. :dog:

I'm getting ready to head to the city to start radiation today. I'll have 16 treatments that will be daily except during Christmas week and the week of New Year. My last treatment is January 2. Then I will be able to say goodbye to that bitch 2019. After radiation I should be able to have a a normal life for the most part. I'll have regular scans and meds, along with regular doctors' appointments. I'm hoping that 2020 is a far better year than 2019.

Wishing you well with the radiation, and your travel to the other city. My friend required lots of rest after her radiation finished but it is good you can see the end of treatment.

I wouldn't call this the end totally. I realized recently this isn't like pneumonia or something where you get a course of antibiotics, some sleep then return to your normal life. This will always be with me

And yet I've noticed you refuse to let cancer define you........hope all goes well today and if you need to talk, we're here to listen.

Hugs and best wishes, Northwind with this last active part of your treatment.

And I'll let others provide cuddly puppies. Mine is not cuddly, and not calming. As likely to jump you or bite you as give you a civil greeting. It's not all my fault; when I got her at 18 months, she was "broken", and not the wisest blend of dogs anyway (husky and foxhound)...

My cat is very cuddly, BUT you have to be able to lift her, and given that she's over 20 lbs and almost as wide as she is high and long (she's a ragdoll, a large cat, and also overweight), that's a challenge. She's very friendly, though, and has a couple of monster paws, claws always in, always ready to pat your arm to remind you to keep up the petting.

Reach out and touch someone, a healthy clause ... or in old language ... sante claws? You could get hooked intuit!

Good morning! (stretch yawn) Along with all the cuddly puppies and kitties, we have warm beverages to bring comfort. Tea and coffee cart is ready. Help[ yourself to the hot drunk of your choice.
