Oh Mrs. A - that sounds tough! Travelling abroad (and even closer to home!) is often a big relationship challenge I think. I hope their trip will go well, as they settle into a new time zone and new expectations. Glad you could see how Canadian you are now!!

And I got an email today with the invitation to take the oath on the 26 th! Anybody throwing me a Wonderparty on the 26 afternoon?

Home after the weekend away. Lovely neighbour took good care of the cat, but reported they had to stand next to the bowl to encourage her to eat ( I know, she often doesn’t eat until I sit down, too). Now she is cuddling up stretched out on my legs. I guess she missed me.

Good morning. The coffee is delicious, thanks. I've brought some fruit to accompany the doughnuts and other great items here. Of course, only your favourites have been included. Such is the magic of the virtual snack bar.

Well, sorry folks, but I just gobbled up all the potato salad that was in the fridge. Wow - it was magnificent! I DO love good potato salad & my mate made a new recipe yesterday ... sorry no leftovers to share. But if you like cooking & wonder about the science of it ... you might like this recipe from The Food Lab book (truly fascinating book!) Enjoy! Potato Salad Done Right | The Food Lab

I agree with her suggestion about the seasoning- but cutting the potatoes and then cooking them in little cubes surely kills any vitamines that are left in them. Better is to boil them whole, then cut them while warm ( German potatoe salad is rather sliced than cubed) and drown them in veggie or chicken bouillon for a few hours to soak up the flavours ( keep in fridge) before draining the extra liquid and adding onions, pickles and chives as well as bacon and an apple. I usually don’t add mayo, but you could and the mustard is also a nice feature.

And now, to try to counteract the Guinness, coffee is ready. Tea on tap, other warm drinks are available. Enjoy.
