Or a hat and very lightweight cotton long sleeve tops and bottoms. I always try "baby" sunscreen first when I'm looking for some, which I am, apparently, as, in attempt not to repeat my foolishness earlier in the week went looking for my sunscreen. Appears to have vanished.

Was looking for sunscreen myself last week, I don’t have any sensitivity or problem so I was happy to grab whatever. However, on my journey I did pick up a bottle that was advertised as “for sensitive skin” and noticed it wasn’t water or sweat proof which would have had been completely useless for me. I feel for people who struggle with something that should be easy.

Wedding over and WOW! It was beautiful, touching, fun and funny. And it was totally genuine. I am so happy that my son found the person for him. And, to make it even better, her family and our family mesh really well. It was great to see so many friends and family, including my son's younger friends and their partners, some of whom I was meeting for the first time. Today is gift-opening, and hangover time (not for me, can't handle more than 2 glasses of wine!) And good-byes to those heading out on the road. In a world of so much chaos, it's good to celebrate like this.

I found that with my nephew's wedding, too. Alas, with only four kids in Little M's generation of my family (three on my Dad's side, one on his sister's side), there won't be many of those. And the only reason this nephew got married as early as he did (22) is that he's been dating his wife since grade 7.

Yay, babies! We get visits from them pretty regularly at work. One of our HR team is on her second mat leave and pops by to see her boss and teammates occasionally plus we have some doting grandparents around. I tease the HR lady about what she has to look forward to (right now, she has a toddler and an infant so has no idea what's going to hit her in a dozen or so years:cool:).

Yay, no more stitches in my back! I'm done with this back cyst crap. Until the next time (they seem to happen about every four years).

On to my weird, eff-d up ankle/foot (kind of stiff and weak but no pain. Has my GP and physiotherapist both a bit puzzled).

Good news for healed back - and boo to ankle woes! Arthritis? Ligaments stretched? Hopefully you've got a physio who loves a good puzzle and will get it figured out soon!

He seems to. He's been in the profession for over 30 years. Played pro hockey in the AHL in his youth, so I imagine he's got some personal experience with some common injuries, too.:D

Now that I am more awake I can share a bit more about the town hall.

I thought that the overview of the caregiving crisis was well summarized. However, I was concerned that parents were generally only used to set the stage for the "experts" rather than being viewed as experts about caregiving in their own right. I also found that the town hall focused largely on the problem and how bad it is (and it is) rather than exploring with parents what would be helpful.

But overall I was glad that the issue is coming to national attention.

@DaisyJane, I thought I recognized your name and obviously know Matthew’s so I thought it was you :)

Not knowing or having any interaction with that system it sounded like the town hall could have gone on forever and still only have scratched the surface. It was certainly eye opening for me.

We have had a meeting and now are “ expanding services”, which means, one of us is going to have to work on Saturdays. With rotation, this means every seventh Saturday. Well, I suppose, I then can go to Ikea on a Monday without having to take vacation.

It's something I've enjoyed throughout most of my adult life not having a 9-5 type of job, the ability to get things done when places aren't too busy.

Me too - I popped over to Ikea today and remembered clearly why I usually go on a weekday!! Wow, was it busy!! I loved that aspect of working part time - out to appointments & shopping etc at off peak times.

I just finished amletter to an old school friend, who I had met again this year on my visit to Germany. She is divorced and has little to no contact to her children. The two adult children have stopped talking to her “ after her ex told them some lie about her” , but she doesn’t really know what it was. Now she has learned that her son has prostate Cancer at 30, and she still is unable to make the first step. I feel so sad about her missed opportunities. Made me think of what people miss and later regret not having been more couragious.
Sometimes, time heals things by justnpassing, but as we get older, there might not be enough time left to wait it out....
