I heard briefly last evening on The National, then read aaboout it this morning. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I just can't imagine how people cope with such tragic events. The parents, the siblings, the girl friends! Hugs to Kay and Craazyheart and others in the area who wait for news - who perhaps know somebody who was involved.

Would you believe I saw it first on the BBC Twitter channel this morning? And CNN? I have not even seen CBC's story yet.

What a tragedy. My thoughts and good vibes to all affected.

Last night I just made a post that indicated that there was something happening in my part of the world. It is hard to find words. Likely most people have heard by now of the tragic accident involving a bus load of hockey players. It happened right outside my son's house - his house shook with the impact. He spent time helping as he could - but he was still pretty much shocked when we spoke. Will hear more today. We don't have names yet, but my immediate family are all basically ok.

It rapidly becomes difficult to gather facts - but lots of unfounded rumours flying around. There were one, two or three STARS helicopters, two, four or six ambulances. The people are gathering at a particular church. They need food, blankets and phone chargers. They are buried under food and blankets - who knows? We decided to stay at home as there are younger, healthier people than us to deal with everything.

There were 28 people on the bus, players coming here for a game plus coaches. 14 dead, 14 injured. I haven't heard anything about the driver of the semi who T boned the bus. People are assuming it didn't stop at the Stop sign. Time will tell.

Thanks for your concern.

oh, so sorry, @KayTheCurler . My heart goes out to your son. My hope is that he can get counselling to deal with the images. I am thankful, though, that there was someone who was there, who when hearing the impact went to do what he could.

Echoes of Bathurst, NB a few years back ... sad!

Yet heh ... mankind refuses to moderate our life ... slow down and live? Are there moderates ?

Oh Kay that's terrible. We sometimes forget about witnesses to these horrible crashes. So many lives lost or altered. My condolences. There are no words.

I am so proud of his willingness to step up and do what he could. We will be watching out for him, our delightful DIL and the little guy (as yet we don't know for sure just what he saw and heard). Will be spending time with them later.

I am sorry I didn't post more last night but I wasn't sure how much of her personal location KayTheCurler

wanted on Social media. Hockey is a religion in Saskatchewan and everyone is responding to the sad news.

Devastating, horrific collision with such tragic results. Was thinking of you Kay, shocked to read of your family's close connection. No words indeed.

The bus and truck accident is a tragedy. So many young lives lost (14) and so many injuries. And for it to happen in front of your son's house. How devastating to witness. My heart hurts for all those involved. It really strikes close to home as last year my 2 hockey billets bussed to all their tournaments. My close friend has a son still in hockey and it strikes so close to home. Wishing comfort for you and your family Kay and for all those impacted.

I often wonder how I would react if I were the first person at the scene of a bad accident. Now Kay's son knows. He helped. I hope that I would do the same - call 911 and provide as much first aid, encouragement, comfort, as possible until someone who knows what to do arrives? Or would I freeze? Or become overwhelmed? I have no idea how to do triage.

Been there done that ... tis something that can lead to trauma later ... but at the time you do what you can ...

Tis upsetting to see people that with praxis do nothing .. and with lexis do nothing ... filling 2/3 of the monkey rule ... all that is left is to speak of how you caused nothing ... so don't ... code it in script!

If the story is told rite ... someone may learn something ... on the road to Ammaes in ... that light within?

God does bless the core of darkness ... kind've like heartland ... stumped?
