Getting out the vote is a good way to contribute, I think. If it had not been her, then someone from Council would be doing it.

Is there such a thing as being "unusually interested in working democracy"? In a culture which values the right of participation by all members, that would seem to be a righteous move. You find the strangest things to observe about. You might wish to observe about the wyrd way people choose houses/neighbours, the extreme dryness of our local earth considering it's only early July, the excessive and ridiculous speed at which modern life moves, the wyrd & horrible ubiquity of 'smart' phones, the rarity of real, local food in our lives.
 
Yes Jae last time I checked only 10 of us had voted on the by-laws. I thought some WC2 ers may have missed that their was an election happening. I think I have voted in all elections I have been eligible for church, municipal, provincial, federal and of course MEC.

You're putting on a clinic for how to be unlikable. You could teach it. It's like your calling.
 
I don.t want to get into it with Jae again but he is such an a**hole. He only

makes nasty comments and he isn't even good at doing that.
 
It's actually a cultural phenomenon. People, particularly Americans, seem to be able to justify saying truly awful things, by ending with "Just sayin'"... Or blatant insults with an LOL, or a smiley face at the end.
 
What I'm saying is that anti-social behaviour is your art form. Maybe I'm wrong and you don't even know you're doing it, but I figure some part of you knows just how to alienate people at the highest level. It's oddly impressive.

The reason I'm so impressed is that I'm often accused of being anti-social. It's basically true that I write and say what I think, and I don't have much of a filter. That turns many people off, while it entertains others. You make me look like an amateur, the way you can piss people off with one sentence. And then the "Who? Me?" act. You're actually accomplished at it. I half expect we're in some experiment you're doing for school.
 
So, I think we are likely all in agreement re the snarkiness of Jae's comment.

In other news, ....it's going to be a scorcher in s. ont tomorrow. Right now I am enjoying a pleasant night, with the window open , but the air is still.
I am nibbling on what was the last of the "we -picked" from the one strawberry patch as u-pick was closed.
I had a busy day at Five Oaks.

I am aware of so many shifting pieces in my life right now, and that is ok. I also need to remember to stop and water the flowers (or there won't be any to smell!)
 
And jae, you're not 'getting' Tutu, if you're not 'getting' forgiveness. Someone who has forgiven almost never needs to tell the forgiven that they are so.
 
I wonder if Jae could get Desmond Tutu to swear at him? That's an experiment I could get behind. Put Jae in a room with the most patient and forgiving people of our time, and time how long it takes people like the Dalai Lama to turn violent.

Having said nothing wrong to deserve all this venom from you all, I'll just dismiss it as, say, a result of hot July temperatures. Again, I wish one and all a wonderful evening. And now, let's turn our thoughts to other things, shall we.
 
And there's the, "Who? Me?" reaction. It's perfect. Try to make other people feel bad for calling you on it. I'd call it "textbook", but I don't think that textbook exists. You could write it.

hmmm, the berries are all gone.
Two meeting invitations sent out, including agendas proposed.
Had a couple of good meetings today and a bunch of work done on volunteer stuff.
Definitley need to get work stuff moving as well
