Enjoying fiddleheads. I just cooked up a mess - serve hot with cider vinegar and real butter. If someone could just bring in some freshly caught brook trout we could have a feast. I'm also stewing rhubarb from my back yard. Someone bring biscuits.

There's a quart of just-sour whole milk in the fridge, so you have just got yourself the lightest of plain scones...

Oh what a lovely feast with friends! Thank you all.

Seems I've been feasting all weekend - lucky me! Yesterday I went to a beautiful bridal shower - we had high tea at Abigail's Tea Room in St. George - a little rural crossroad. It was a marvelous event & the food was truly spectacular!!

Then in the evening we joined friends for their annual mussel & lobster dinner! Mmmm ... caught Thurs morning in PEI, steamed the lobster right on the dock in seawater then flash chilled; into a refrigerated truck & they were off by 5:00pm PEI time. Arrived in the GTA at noon on Friday - and what a feast we enjoyed on Saturday!! Followed by a great outdoor campfire ... so nice.

Tomorrow I think a few wondercafe friends from near & far will gather for a lovely lunch ... a nice way to wrap up the weekend!

I spoke about the Wisdom of God (Sophia) today - lay pulpit supply in two churches on the north-side. Only a 20 minute drive to the farthest.

Congregation of about 15 in the first; maybe 35, including the choir, in the second - but good people. Five children in the second - but this is a long weekend. People tend to be away opening up their cottages, or fishing.

Sorry we missed you today Seeler ... were just returning from GM Isle ...

I like the topic of Sophia (God's Wisdom) with that ever present sense of denial, since God as pure love, in such an emotional state could the character of god be thinking much?

I get this image of a divided or disseminated persona ... one way out there beyond out reality! Is that divine, or diverse as an allegory ... providing a large black gap ... time? Then would timeless holes be raptures in the cosmos? Holes in the cosmological genre ...

I will be back next Sunday Luce. Not sure what I will be speaking on. The readings open an opportunity to speak on Affirming - but it is not the visiting worship leaders job to stir the pot too much. Maybe just a hint. A wise older minister from another congregation once told me that you have to introduce a new idea by inches - touch on it once, step back for a couple of weeks - move a bit further the next time you mention it, step back. Come in with a hint from another angle. Eventually it may be possible to make some changes. Two visits - highly unlikely.
I will see where the Spirit leads.

Here is some fresh rhubarb and strawberry crisp. Enjoy.

Mmmm. Yum. Haven't rhubarb strawberry anything in a long time. Never quite figured out why those flavours go so well together.

So, I had a snake in my shower drain this afternoon.

(No, not that one)

Better. So, our shower has been draining very slowly over the last week or two. Just cleaning out the top of the drain, which has worked in the past, didn't help. So, I dropped $20 for a drain auger, aka snake. Never used one before but once I got the hang of it, it did the job. Did you know that clumps of wet hair mixed with soap scum is really really gross?

Does that ogre well with people that know not the metaphorical form of God ... tis dark and soul altering as a vibrating silhouette in the shades ... two shadows trying to get into a common space? Ah con junction ...

Jae, do you see the difference between this two responses to an invitation:

"yum to the scones. Thank you. Fiddleheads-not my favourite-but that just means more for the rest of you."
and
"Ah, finally something being offered up that's worth eating!" ?

The first response indicates that the person who posted it enjoys scones.

You're trying to teach Jae how to get along in a group - the Wondercafe version of Sysiphus rolling a rock up a hill.

Sisyphus' struggle ... getting over the hump of social behaviour! Difficult in a world of anti social behaviour ... war mongering?

Many do not socialize with such thoughts ...

What a lovely day in S. Ontario. Just got back from a walk around Royal Botanical Gardens aka RBG. You know, it is "in my backyard" and I can't remember the last time that I was there. I am sure that I must have been...but. crazy.

Had a great visit with SomeGalfromCanada and Carolla and Birthstone.

I spent the day messing around in soil, seedlings, interspersed with dog walking and lazing in a comfy chair on the back porch with the usual wonderful radio 2 line-up. Am just considering assembling a rhubarb crumble pie, as I made pastry yesterday and the rhubarb is begging thinning.

Did you know the ancient word for dirt is mire? Something to cult I'vate if you're looking at the dirt from the other's IDe?

Some people feel communication is like that ... just dirt ... and they don't wish others to know their family dirt as shows up in public laundry as laurels ... with point-isms! Can be poignant ...
