Sad to hear about your brother-in-law, Seeler. I know he'd been failing, but you're never quite prepared. Hugs for seelerman; seems that after you lose your parents, it starts to become siblings, and then it's really too close...

Another death. I have lost count of how long it is since I heard of a birth in my group of family and friends. Sending warm hugs from my keyboard to your monitor Seeler. Please pass them on to Seelerman. My thoughts match BetteheRed's - even when we know someone is failing we aren't prepared to have them die. Be gentle with yourselves.

Sorry to hear, Seeler. Gentle thoughts as you support your husband.

My Grampa died in December and I've just gotten word that there's an offer on his farm before the real estate listing is even posted online. Being several provinces away, I won't have another chance to visit there before it moves into the hands of a new family. It sad, but also the realisation of a strange new version of what will become "normal".

To share a bit of good news - the reason I was up at what was morning for some of you is because I woke up to 2 guys talking going down the street during the wee hours of the mornings. Due to the amount of petty crime around here I watched for a bit, sure enough up and down my driveway and my neighbours testing vehicle doors. Was on the phone while I watched them go into multiple vehicles.

I woke Chemguy up, mentioned I had called 911 and that they dropped a pouch containing something. He woke me up this morning to ask about what I had left inside the door, he had no memory of our conversation. Meanwhile, it took me a good hour+ to get back to sleep.

Turns out quite a few other people around here called the cops too. The guys were caught, so a few less people to do this here.

People complain about the silliest things sometimes - like the ice cream truck playing the music too late in the evening. Still, really like the neighbourhood and would rather be surrounded by people who complain a bit too much than those who don't look out for one another.

The brother-in-law of a friend at work died in a motorcycle crash. Makes me shudder a little because Little M keeps talking about getting his Class M (motorcycle license in Ontario).

It's hard when events like this are so close to us. . .

Events like that always make us think eh Mendalla? Motor bikes are, in some ways, a great form of transport. In other ways they are accidents waiting to happen. My family have been deeply changed by several of these accidents.

Sad & tragic - these deaths.

My son too - at about the same age, talked a lot about motorcycle license - hugely frightening for me - but the idea gradually passed, thankfully. He was also talking about joining the armed forces for a while - thankfully that too eventually passed. These are but a few of the myriad of moments which contributed to my graying hair!

the motorcycle business scares me to pieces and they start so young on dirt bikes and

if they love them, they love them and that usually means speed.
