Happy Easter!
From going to a turkey that was on the small side for the number of people, we did a large one. My Mom didn't know you could get turkeys that big, especially to find one now! About 13kg. Fridge is now stocked with leftovers :)
I think we successfully did most dishes gluten-free, no cross contact. It was more difficult that what I expected (get 'clean' spoon from drawer, wash hands and spoon in case of cross contact on spoon and thus now hands). A few dishes were gluten-filled, so we separated all serving areas into Celiac area and non-Celiac area.
Enjoying a bit of quiet now that my parents have left, Chemguy is napping.
 
Just back from a 9 day trip to Ontario. Celebrated my dad's 85th birthday on the day and later with a surprise party. Went to my first cousin once removed"s stag and doe party. Saw lots of cousins, visited the canoe museum, met my sisters new partner, and manged to fit in a quick visit with both Pinga, and later Red Baron. It was a packed trip but good to do and good to now be home. My youngest came with me as well.
 
@Tabitha , it was great to see you and your youngest. Glad to hear you had a good stay. I remember thinking that your schedule was busy with lots of driving.

I am being rather relaxed these days. Reading, cooking, tidying.
I have also started back with fitness...gradual including physio. My hips have been feeling rather rough these last months, so, taking some professional help to get them addressed. It has helped.
 
Woke to some sad news today. The school librarian from high school, who was also the father of a classmate and friend, passed away at 88 from a stroke. John was my first boss, a friend who nurtured some of my musical tastes (he was a founder of the K-W Gilbert & Sullivan Society), and the fact that I became a librarian myself is likely part attributable to time spent with him. A very quiet, capable man dedicated to teaching and librarianship who represented a lot of what I find lacking in our education system today. His son, the one who was my classmate, later became a librarian as well after several years teaching in Japan and took a course or two from my wife. Heading to a visitation for the family tomorrow night.
 
Sorry to hear that Mendella. May some of your memories and your sharing of how he mentored you help his family.

I will be but my schedule is filling up fast. I'm slipping in a work meeting when I come down and then the friend who is going to the visitation with me has invited me to drop by to see his house (I saw the backyard when he got married since they had the ceremony there but haven't really seen the interior).
 
Condolences on your loss Mendalla. Interesting to reflect on those who have mentored and inspired us as we journey along in life. Teachers & librarians, parents of friends - I wonder sometimes if they appreciate they wide circle of influence they have or had.
 
It is something to have a mentor at the appropriate time in out lives ...

Many never have a mentor when needed!

May he rest in peace ... not haunted by latent library ghosts! Appropriately time d'egos'ð are finer ... rarely seen by the overly emotional! These may be type cast as blindly apocalyptic ... something to look into to see what the other mist ...

Sorry for your loss Mendalla. My condolences. A mentor is a wonderful thing.
 
@Mendalla , I get it re busy schedules. Take care of yourself. Although it may seem odd, enjoy your time remembering a life well lived. People like that are so important, and I am glad you are making the time to be there.
 
I'm feeling a bit mentally exhausted today. I'm tired of so many mistakes when it comes to medical stuff. I catch some of them but seriously the number is so high :confused: and I can't even come up with some of the things that are done to even think to check for them. It's not all related to one clinic either.
When it comes to refills I don't know why I'm not able to have my own prescription pad. I would do a much better job than quite a few of these doctors.
 
Do people under the concerns of medical deviations ... need advocates?

Collectively these are dismissed by authority as not satisfactorily efficient to assist the tyrannical collection of Monis! An obvious pseudo nymph to those that see through fabrications ... rye virtue? Only way to observe a soul according to biblical tradition ... and thus the need for Romans to sacrifice them to martyrdom ... eliminates thought due to imposed fear and anger ... room for thought is dis posed !
 
Received my firazyr. 3 doses at more than $3000/dose adds up to be a very expensive package!
Still sorting out other med stuff.
 
It is a rainy day. I went and patient-sat for a friend today, so she could do some errands. It was kinda nice, as there was no thoughts that "maybe I should be doing x" when I was reading as I was in her house, and there was nothing else I could be doing. Hah!

I did have to be present due to the other items going on in wondercafe2; however, turned out that the technology behind the site and my smartphone made that relatively easy

Now home, having had a lovely chat with a friend at a local bakeshop and an agreement to get together. Now, to curl up with a coffee and read some more before I think about making dinner.
