So at school along with the gospel story you'll also be teaching "different traditions"? What are the "different traditions" Nancy?
So to start my spring break I attended a "Paint your Spirit animal" workshop. Wine was included (but alas until this diabetes is under control I passed and had sparkling water).
It was acrylic. I only paint when I have an instructor helping, but hey 5 years ago I never painted at all.
I did a pair of raven in the moonlight. I had a little coaching , but not much . I'm very pleased with the painting.
I'm curious Tabitha - how did people select or know their "spirit animal"?So to start my spring break I attended a "Paint your Spirit animal" workshop. Wine was included (but alas until this diabetes is under control I passed and had sparkling water).

well our instructor talked about it. She said we could close our eyes and think about it, flip through photos and see what spoke to us, recall an animal that appeared frequently in our lives, ask the question as we fall asleep. You can actually have up to 9 spirit or totem guides-depending on what you need in your life.
Most of us came in knowing what animal we wanted to paint. We also looked at the meaning of each that we choose.
No one can tell you your spirit animal, you must claim it yourself.
I choose Raven. It is a biblical bird-feeding prophets in the desert, being first off the Ark. Heard a sermon about why we-the United church-are called to be raven people. Very prevalent in Inuvik where i lived. Prevalent in west coast -Haida culture There's book about fallen climbers turning into Raven (I think it is by one of the Gadd brothers-maybe Ben?) It's a sign of beginnings or changes, a sign of strength, it is not always what it seems
and it fit my painting skill.
At the end of class everyone shared why the choose their animal and it's significance to them
