and just curious-what would a Baptist church think about someone who was baptized by immersion as an infant? That's what the Greek and Ukrainian Orthodox churches do. The babies are dunked.

attended my 2nd meeting on co-housing this afternoon. I'm quite interested and this might be my next move-we are at the early beginning but have 35 interested households.
 
co-housing is kind of like co-op housing, but everyone owns equity. Here in BC it is set up like a strata or condo.
It can take various forms like Rarebirds in Kamloops-they have a purposebuilt house with individual suites and share one kitchen and all suppers or Pacific Gardens in Nanaimo where it is apartment style condos with an enclosed common area between two rows, and a common room for potlucks and events.
The key is that people want to be involved with each other-a community -and yet also have some private space.
We are looking at a common area with a commercial kitchen, an eating area, perhaps an exercise room and an indoor play area for kids.

I do not know what is available on the east coast but try googling it.

The balance of community and private space seems like a great idea. Houses and even traditional apartment buildings and condos can be kind of insulating and don't necessarily lend themselves to true community unless an effort is made. This sounds like community development is built right into the design and governance of the residence while still respecting the need for private space.

They tried something like this here a few years back, but it never materialized, don't know th details but I think the group could not agree and fell apart.
 
Yes Mrs. Anteaters- many groups start. There are a few that actually go ahead.

This one has a clear mission and vision statement. We do expect some households to drop out. We'll see where it goes.
 
Drat. Two men pulled up at 5 pm loaded up my green kayak and drove away. Neighbour saw them and the thieves waved at him. Police report filed but not holding out hope.

On the positive note-it is my least expensive boat and hadn't been used for 2 years.
 
How to get things done in the world designated to be unaware ... have guts will travel ... look at those off to Washington with Trump Cards ... just another gammas ... tis dark to say least!

In every real soul a thief in de night ... few exceptions ... almost ether-like beans ...

They. stole. a. boat. from. you? That's terrible! So very brazen. I hope they are swiftly brought to justice.
