We have benefited from bakers needing to bake here. We've had them come by with muffins or rolls on a plate. Delivered safely of course. :)

Our former minister used to talk about the "stress baking" that took place in his house. His wife and two daughters all did some of it.

I just discovered that you can make a "no bake" gingerbread using Purity Ginger Snaps (a big addiction).
Uh oh.

No Bake
Gingerbread Cake
Ingredients:
2-3 packages Purity Ginger Cookies, 10-12 Instant Vanilla Pudding Cups, 1L container of Cool Whip, Candied ginger
Instructions:
Arrange cookies on their edge side by side, in rows in a 9×13 inch dish with pudding between each cookie. Spread Cool Whip on top then garnish with cookie crumbs and candied ginger. Refrigerate for at least 12 hours and serve chilled.

Fortunately, other than bread (in a bread machine), none of us are into baking. Probably a good thing given my diabetes.

I mostly bake bread/various buns/muffins. I have a couple of neighbours I give to fairly often and a son who regularly shows up daily to see what I've got to hand over. Mostly we have coffee outside but when the weather is unpleasant he comes in. We like to be in contact with him daily and he has no local friends or social life so it works quite well for us all!

When this isolation is over, and I again have sisters and grown up kids dropping in...I will need to up my baking game. They all look at the 'dome' (glass pedestal dish, covered, and bought at an antique store, but antique is the 60's!) If the dome is empty...sad faces!

This is the day God has made! Let us rejoice and salute the day with warm drinks!

Ok, we needed some RAIN, but not this heavy snowfall. ( can’t see the snow coming down on this pic, but it is).
I put my fleecy sweater on and come in for a cup of tea.

I'm hoping we won't end up with something like this. It's typical to get it in the spring, but it's not typical to be close to -20s at the beginning of April so I think we deserve a pass on the late snowfalls!

Our forecast is at least a chance of showers everyday for the next week. Ugh. At least today turned out okay. Might get in a walk tonight as I did last night.

I could actually go out right now, but I prefer morning walks so much!

Same here. Yesterday was beautiful and I sat out on the deck for a while in the sun. I was mindful of sunburn and got inside just in time, from the looks of things.

I took a picture of someone out in public today (won't post it). It was really rough as I didn't want to be obvious taking her picture and I had to park my car in another spot to get it and then take it through a back window, I took it moreso to have 'proof'. She was in line at a bank, socially distanced line (same parking lot as the medical building). She had gloves and a mask and ... a large ziplock bag over her head. She was jogging in spot and things like that. There's a much better picture of her on the Edmonton reddit, she's with a friend, walking, not in the parking lot at that point. I won't post here but others can find it easily if they want to check it out.

I'm confused if she's serious about the PPE or what. Our neighbourhood has multiple people going out in costumes for smiles. Maybe that's her goal?

I am off to read the cheery news in the paper & do the Sudoku and Jumble puzzles.

Oh gee - I just went out to venture off to Bulk Barn to pick up an order for flours - and my car doesn't start. Sigh. Sent my mate off ...

And this morning I got a nasty burn on my right hand. Friend left an unbaked loaf of bread in her dutch oven at my doorstep - she meant to bake it before going in to work but slept in! It's for her shut in elderly father-in-law. So I brought it in, took the loaf out, preheated the dutch oven which is different from mine; took it out of 450F oven and put the loaf in - then started to pick up the lid without an oven mitt!!! Good grief. Hand went right into the cold running water for 15 minutes - will have a few blisters I think, but could be worse. I will NOT be telling her about this. But the bread is out of the oven now and looks great!!

Ouch. This week I burned plastic packaging to the stovetop. I carefully placed a plate away from the element that was used and then tossed a pack of pitas on the element. The microwave on the counter was a factor.

It's too much temptation for me to keep baking ingredients around. It's better if I don't buy them in the first place. It would be great if I had people waiting to help me eat it all, but usually there isn't.
I love to bake, but it's too much to ask myself to put batches of cookies in the freezer or portioning up muffins and bread etc.
I just know myself too well.....sigh
Sad but true.
I know exactly what you mean. My sister said she bought a bread maker. I thought about fresh baked bread and concluded, nope. I’d just be tempted.

Here in NB we have a burning ban in place ... I admit it could be a whole different world but give the brute forces going against understanding of alien things ...

Then there is this example of brute force against understanding the labour's problem:

Is there meat for learning hidden between the lines as drawn by Rutherford? Of course there will be those from the empire IHC stance of angloid that will not grasp things beyond grammatical spin of Shakespearean communes! Thus commuted ... to the kohl as buried!

Good morning, all, coffee and tea cart is up and running. Indulge and enjoy.

What do you know, I came looking for the coffee cart and it magically appeared a moment ago!
