Lucy will be swimming sooner, I think. Apparently, this has been the shortest ice fishing season of the last several years. Police are warning people to just plain stay off the ice. I predict we will be throwing rocks into water, not onto the ice, this coming Easter morning.

Are things getting hauteur in the surrounding environment or is that just further Nous beyond dust ... adept space?

Where unknown words are stacked ...

It was a lovely day. The student I was with mostly shuffled but every now and again got a bit of glide in. Then she'd smile with glee and say 'I did it". Lots of laughter and hard work and a few rest stops but she did 2k. Enjoyed a downhill between my legs. It was perfect timing at our last intersection as one of the groups came in from a different way-so we finished in a crowd of classmates. When she saw the building she asked me for a high 5- she knew the end was in sight.

That's so great Tabitha! I'm sure she was thrilled, and perfect timing indeed to meet up with the rest of the group - all happy! I'm sure it was a memorable day for her. You're such a great example for all of us.

Yes, I love people who love people with challenges. One of my favourite friends at church, Kathy, is an EA, and she just gets a glow on when she describes the most minute of challenges overcome, the tiniest progress made.

Ugh, things are a mess again with the blood products. I know I am supposed to have an appointment once/year. Last year they had me slotted as a different type of patient - tests beforehand they requested were wrong because of that. I noticed they had me set in the same timeslot when they gave me my new appointment last year. Told them, had it fixed. It meant it got delayed to April instead of mid March.

I've discovered with ordering blood products this is an issue. They aren't really flexible on this once/year thing, the ability to order expires a year to the date. So I have to order more now even though I'm set for a few months to get me to my appointment.

I also found my appointment got rescheduled - not until the end of May. The are reslotting all patients. HAE used to all be morning, they are now afternoon. So at least I don't need to be at the hospital for 8 am.

Really great news is they also changed up the nursing. There was a new nurse who was training when I was doing IV training. She was there lots when I first started treatment although she wasn't going to take HAE patients. I run into her every now and then. I really like her, even though she started at the clinic around the same time as me she was always on top of stuff. She knows her stuff and I trust her to double check when it's marked off that I haven't given in any logs. She's now taking over the HAE side! I'm really hoping this means things will be smoother from now on.

Our refugee family finally arrived safely Tuesday, and are beginning their long adjustment to a new climate, new language, new culture, etc. It's already clear what a great job Mom and Dad are doing as parents - the five kids are bright-eyed, eager and engaged. It's going to be hard for them all, though, so if you pray, spare a prayer for them, please.

We've waited a long time. We submitted an application in September of 2015, got assigned "our" family in February of 2016. They ended up being one of the 'lost files', so we got a 'new' family in October 2016. They were set to arrive in November, then the baby got sick and couldn't fly. I've just got news that we've found them housing and the "move-in" party is a week today.

Happy to hear your family has safely arrived Bette! One of ours just celebrated their first anniversary of arrival - two parents & four kids - and they are thriving so far. Another pair arrived - they are parents of people already living here, so we haven't had much to do with them in terms of settlement. We're still waiting for another family to arrive - have no idea when that might happen. They are a couple with two older 'kids' - more like young adults I think.

That's so cool, carolla. We've been having planning meetings in the last few years where we tried to figure out what our mission/vision is. Food and music and social justice issues always come up; I'd love to see "refugee sponsorship/settlement" as one of our cornerstone issues. We'll see how this one goes. I must say that as I perused the list of BVOR (blended visa; half government sponsored) cases available for sponsorship, I was grieved by the number of single LGBTQ people on the list solely because of their non cis-gender/orientation.

That's a very interesting thing Bette. It makes sense now that you mention it, but looking specifically for a LGBTQ person would be a great initiative.
Our church joined with two others in our area to do the sponsorship - and another neighbouring church has been invovled too in raising lots of $$. The working together has been interesting in & of itself ... not without growing pains!

Nothing better than the adoption of strange music and thoughts ...

I dream of someone adopting my thoughts as they remain with me still on the move ... at this speed it is a rye condition ... only in essence ... no room for grass and Mara Joan ... she be's by reformation ... akin to redaction!

Word is like that ... not a rigid idealism ...

Little people say the darndest things ... more apt to be the truth as not ... don't trust Big Men or those confident that they are among the big ... what the kids say may be the making of a man of virtue ... maybe not! --- Art Linkletter!

Is this the source of the old axiom the child is the father of the man?

The balance of us folk thus belittled ... keep our head down below the horizon ... just appearing as smudges or streaks on paper as icons of something non-existential ... psyche in reality? No way ...

I happy to be a minimalist ... given how little I know as judged by big confidence men !

Welcome back @revjohn and congratulations on the new grandchild.

Been a bit busy and a bit sick . Seems that Saturdays are catch up sleep. Dozed off in the chair most of the morning, out and about for a bit in the afternoon, then, dozed off and slept much of the late afternoon & evening.

Going to be home, no flying for the month of March - yes! In the process of bringing in more resources for a team, which is good. Resources were to have been present much earlier in the project, but, things worked out to make it possible now

Our springer is not doing well. Struggling keepign food down, tried various types of food, and now having ultrasounds. He is an important part of the family, and hope it is not something that can't be treated. worried.

Five Oaks work is coming together, and we hope that things continue to come together for us. Working on the final report, though, the report is for us to initiate a series of activities.

Sorry to hear about your dog ... worriesome when any member of the family is not well.
Hopefully you can rest well & get things back in balance for yourself this month pinga.
Somebody just asked me at church this morning - 5 Oaks has been sold, right? NO, said I!! And more ...

It is so hard, as we keep finding that message is out there.

What is the source? Have you managed to close that off?

Perhaps something needs to go around to congregations in Hamilton Conference (it's under Hamilton Conf., right?) to clarify the status. Or maybe a press release to the Observer or other UCCan channels?

I have had notes/updates from the Five Oaks committee posted several times to my church's e-newsletter - and apparently not all read or remember! But at least this person today came to ask me if I knew the correct info re the 'sale'. Good idea about keeping it in the forefront somehow.
