Fixed water softener and humidifier today. Turns out those things need complete teardowns and overhauls by the time they are 10 years old. Oops.

Helping the daughter deal with pre-exam anxiety over two tough ones over the next couple of days. Mom helped her with calculus. I helped by finding our old textbook. Which she used and remembered enough to help our daughter. Thirty-four years after we took the course.

My wife and I both took the same first year calculus course, but we only have my textbook. Which she wrote her name in as well, probably to take it to grad school for reference, but still. She says we got rid of one copy because why have two copies? I want to know who gets the first year calculus textbook in a divorce now.

Ah, the beanie baby case. Back in the days when a rumour was that they are getting very valuable, and people bought lots of them. Which never came true. A couple could not agree on who was getting the collection and the judge made them dump the bags of beanie babies in front of court and sit on the floor and sort them into his pile and her pile.
May they be embarrassed for life…..

Good morning! Repairing water softener and humidifier, final exams anxieties, calculus textbooks and beanie babies, and all the stuff we come upwith today, will fuel our conversations as we gather round the Coffee Cart. As we chat we will do so over cups of tea and coffee. Tis morning, the Wonderbaker has made crepes of several varieties for us to enjoy. The tea water is boiling merrily, the coffee is freshbrewed, and the crepes are ready to eat. All is ready, and everyone is welcome. Come in and join us!

Aloha! My last day in the islands. We are departing Honolulu shortly for the long sail back to California.

Is that incalculable ...? Maybe just clouded nonsense with some anon added ... what's anon? That's something coming ... we're not there yet because of the flying circus ...

Is that where the exhortation originated: "it wasn't worth a hill of beans"? Imagine the over-sprout and need to sell it off ... re-oriented food?

Imagine what easterners have done for the occidental ... mostly un respected! What hinders these folk? The back 40 ...

Can they ever get turned around?

My thought for the day ... and then I'll turn about and back into my hole as many desire:

This site was constructed for open minded and open hearted discussion ... is that not communication? Can such be miscommunicated due to inhibition by those that wish to know nothing about it? Tis a real spinner part of the original Furies ... open-aired ... like laundry on the line ... will is wash?

Some thoughts are just indelible ... can that be defined or rubbed out? Scratch that ...

Pre-exam jitters. I still have nightmares about that, and it has been a few decades! Writing exams in a huge gymnasium, side by side with students writing the same or other exams, sighing, shuffling, huffing and puffing. And then there were those who would go out for smoke breaks. And those who finished in record time...Were they super smart...or the opposite? Good luck to chansen's daughter. You can do this!!!

We know she can. Unfortunately for her, she's half me, so she's not looking at 90+ in the course, but her mom's DNA will bring that mark up from where I was.

Is an ancient examination something that goes on inside as innate, self-contained qualm? That'd be classic ... an internalized vacancy ...

That makes me think of a moment last week when I nearly killed an older woman.

So I'm wandering Costco, not buying tires, when I come across a sample table for Krispy Kreme doughnuts. There is one doughnut segment left on the sample tray. That, I decided, was my doughnut sample.

An older lady literally outdrew me and got to the sample first. She was slightly closer, made the same observation I did, and, more power to her, got the sample.

As she did, the provider of samples behind the counter put out a new tray, so I wasn't inconvenienced but a moment.

The older lady with my original sample popped the whole thing in her mouth, which makes me reconsider the previous "lady" description, but whatever.

I immediately make the observation that, "Why do they even have samples? Who needs to sample a Krispy Kreme?"

This statement, the timing, or perhaps how I said it, made the older woman convulse with laughter a bit, and she almost aspirated her entire segment of doughnut.

She stood there, choking and sputtering for a moment as I contemplated my decision about acting to save a sample thief. Then she waved me off like, "I'm fine," and was last seen walking the coffee aisle.

Costco adventures! My son says he can pretty well have a whole meal there thanks to the samples. Four weeks since surgery, and I can eat a little more, so not quite starved any more. Still needing to be careful though. If I overdo it, my body lets me know!
