Today is an exciting day in this house. The toilet is being replaced. RV toilets have a foot pedal flush. Our pedal snapped off last week. We can still operate it by pushing a couple levers. Having a foot pedal again will be wonderful.
We had the outside of the RV washed yesterday. They also sealed the roof. We get that done a couple times a year and the couple that does it does a great job.
I was a sloth yesterday. I think I'm starting with more energy so far. Friends have returned to the park so hopefully we'll get to connect. Campfire bans have been lifted. Maybe a first fire is in order.

Professional development day so we get a day with our 3 year old grandson. I’ve had him out walking everywhere. We talk while we walk so it’s kind of nice. He and Grandpa are now exploring plasticine shapes. Three sure seems too young for school but he’s doing okay. Enjoying the day with him. Next step…to make a birthday card for his little brother who turns one tomorrow.
Quite an experience today went to Tim Herten's for chicken wraps which they informed after digging around that they didn't have the materials to make them. That's what happen several years ago the last time I tried to get eats at TH!
On top of that the students from the adjacent Christian School had taken over th place inserting themselves in the lines ahead of people already there ... a form of self-respect? I wondered why they were grabbing one another's butts and crotches ... a Trump thing? They seemed to feel totally inhibited about such activity ... gross freedom set free ...
Is there such a thing as humble appreciation of quieter activity? When I related this to a church group they remember a new ministers children behaving that way in their church ... peculiarly stimulating? Some believe that activity must be spectacular to gain attention ... stellar? Steel your self ...
I feel the coming generation spells trouble in the nature of making friends by gross activity and hostilities, etc. Never be gentile seems to be the cry ... move towards brutalization ...

Good morning! How is everyone this morning? Frustrations over toilet replacement, time spent with grandson, making a card for a first birthday, Tim Horton's not having stuff to make chicken wraps, and kids from the local Christian school behaving oddly, and al the other stuff that will arise today will be in our minds as we gather round the Coffee Cart for conversation, connection, support, and community. Today we have apple dumplings to enjoy with our drinks.
The tea water is boiling, coffee is freshbrewed, and dumplings are nice and warm from the bakery. Everything is ready, and everyone is welcome! come in and join the conversations!

Mmmmm, I haven't had a good apple dumpling for years.
The church our family had for years has been making apple dumplings for years and selling at market. Pies as well.
My mom and dad were part of the founding group of bakers and could be found every wed. Dad was a peeler. Mom did pastry.

Been so busy this week. Yesterday was first volunteer shift. Fun last night learning to make a potato chip quilt.
Surprised by my son coming home for the long weekend. It is so good to have him here. Dog has stuck close to him.

Good Sunday morning! A visit from a son, a play in Stratford, get-together with friends at a Mexican restaurant, and all that will arise today comes to the Coffee Cart with us, as we gather over tea and coffee to converse, connect, and support. This morning, the Wonderbakery has provided us with apple streudel, which goes well with coffee and tea! The tea water is boiling, the coffee is freshbrewed, and the streudel fresh and warm. All is ready, all are welcome. Come in and enjoy the company!

I am going to the last Bingo at the Drive-In movie theater today. It’s run bythe Lions club and at the end, they have to give away the jackpots that didn’t go during the season, so the winnings are higher. It’s so much fun to honk the horn when you have a Bingo. You bring your lunch and snacks and sit in your car with a friend.
I won $209 at the beginning of the season and that has served as my gambling money ever since. Today, there will be draws for other prizes as well- I won a beautiful blanket last year.
The fire ban has been lifted in NS except for the region where the wildfire is still burning but is now under control. We had some rain, but not enough to fill rivers and lakes- and wells. Part of my job is to talk to patients how they can take showers after their surgery- but there were quite a few who don’t have enough water to shower and are going to public places or springs to pick up water.
