The mosquitos are wicked here due to the frequent rain.

Better than fires of course, but wow!
Thermacell to your rescue! Do you have one - or two - or three? Best mosquito repeller my family has known. Wicked thick mozzies out at my dtr's place in BC too. She put us onto Thermacell since her Dad is super sensitive to them. He now has several - including a 'wearable' one for hiking, gardening etc. Cdn Tire often has them on sale.

Thanks for the tip

Nice memorial for my aunt. Met a couple people from her side that I haven't met before, including my older cousin's husband (she didn't get married until later in life and he's generally missed a lot of family events). One hymn was set to the tune of "The Rose", the old Bette Midler hit. Apparently it was written by a guy from her old church in Toronto before she moved up North. Both cousins spoke and my younger cousin's wife and son both got involved, too, so a good family affair. At the luncheon (the traditional UCCan post-funeral/memorial sandwiches prepared by the UCW) we had a slide show of old family photos of my aunt. Yes, a certain ape showed up a couple times though no one who knows me today outside the family would probably recognize me in them.

We had a nice day today. It got to about 25 degrees. I spent much of the day listening to an audio book that was a cozy mystery set in this area. My brother, sister and her husband and my nephew came up. We went to the sand sculpture festival then to lunch on a pub patio that allowed dogs. It was great. I finished the book when I got home.

Good morning! Sunday is here! Heat wave has hit here, we have warnings for heat extending through Thursday, Rain falling in some places, mosquitoes abounding in some areas, memorial service and meeting family members, sand sculptures, and all the other happenings and thoughts that come with us to the Coffee Cart for discussion, support, and connection. Of course there is tea and coffee, and today we have Banbury cakes, that we can compare to the Eccles cakes from yesterday. Let us know what you think. The tea water is boiling, coffee freshbrewed, and cakes warmed nicely. All is ready, all are welcome. Come in and enjoy the company!

Thus de due 'd doth fall ... as amon guss ... something to look up! Few grasp its understanding ... just because as emotional folk we do not want to!

If splitting the difference one is in a place of balance ... it is like a fallacy to go there ... to at least part of the demiurge!

What's a fallacy? There's another paradoxical enigma ... that will be avoided, or is just the grand void ... rapturous like a Shakespearean Styr ... maybe a satyr, or bum beef where complexity abounds depositing Patties ... TU forces impacting as it hits the ground! Ineffable ...

Can you keep the dirt and gossip down?

Improbability is thus outlined ... but I'm not allowed to say what I saw ... due to a bushel being placed over the thing ... that's a measure also!

Going by the appearance of the bites, I think I have been bitten a couple of times by black flies here at home.

I'm not sad that there aren't many mosquitos around here and that the ones that are here aren't huge. The mozzies up north have eyelashes. A gang of them could pick you up and carry you away.

Friends are coming over later. They want to see the sand sculptures. Hubby watched the dog yesterday so didn't go in, so he'll go over with them. I may go and sit in the park outside the sand sculpture area. The park is awesome

We tried hiking in a conservation area while we were in Lindsay and the bugs literally beat us back. Not just mosquitoes but they were a major part of the six-legged assault.
When we went to the Narrow Hills PP neither of us encountered a mozzie. However, the horseflies and deer flies were ferocious. Presumably the fires changed something about the environment.

Yeah, we had those, too. I almost hate the way they buzz around and get in your way more than the bites.

Dried out a lot.of standing water, maybe? They lay eggs in water so without standing water, there could be a reduction in the population. Just speculating, though.

Good morning! Hope we all had a good weekend, despite rain, heat, black flies, horse flies, deer flies, mosquitoes, and other such nasties. We gather together in spirit round the Coffee Cart, to discuss the goings-on around us and within us, to support and connect with each other, and to enjoy coffee and tea, and some goodies along with them. Today we have apple turnovers, fresh from the Wonderbakery. The tea water is boiling, coffee freshbrewed, and turnovers invitingly warm. Come in when you can, have a cup or mug and a turnover, and join the conversations! All is ready, everyone is welcome.

Thanks Red Baron. Going to sit on the porch and look over the lake.

I'm missing Seeler this morning who would often join in

Seeler and a few others would often have discussions about what should be rejected from faith ... there goes that thought! There is a power that seems to reclaim trashed thoughts ... she once related that the label was originally meant to be Seeker but registered inadequately and just left that way ...

Can you imagine great powers otherwise ... that is to be a great processer of these things that go by on their way out there ... alas a mortal can take only so much ... then conclusions!

Don't ask ... don't tell is said to be a rowel ... perhaps spelt wrong to cover what mortals despise ... ineffable ... tough words!
