Nova Scotia had ongoing rain since Saturday, helping immensely with fighting the fires. The number of evacuees is down to around 4000 from 16000. It continues to be wet, we had hard rain last night. While people usually complain when they don’t see the sun for a day or two, everybody right now is just relieved.
I have ordered my third rain barrel, expecting this draught to become our new normal. Will set them all up once the rain slows down some.
The cat is a bit cranky. The catio is closed to keep the heat in.

It might have been Seeler who tidied up while CH lit the Crazyhearth. They were both frequent visitors to the Room

Thanks, @JayneWonders. I gapped it completely this a.m. My friend, Dawna and I went thrifting with the big guy this morning. He wasn't really in the mood, unfortunately (bad night, and missing paperwork that I later found for him), but we had fun and I scored: Calvin Klein jeans with original tags, never worn, barely worn red Skecher sandals, a lovely lined rayon dress, floral, that's just so pretty and summer (and matches the sandals, and with original tags), a pink sleeveless blouse, Alfred Sung, really unique cut, the funkiest pair of jeans in a jungle hibiscus pattern with zebras, and a men's XL Hawaiian shirt, in a red theme, to add to my collection. Fun morning.

Here's some clean cups from the Wonderwasher. I assume we've been using the compostable disposables this morning.

Watching and trying to identify birds is a fascinating way to spend time. One thing that can help is joining a FB page with birdwatchers posting their photos. Best of course, if it features your area or province.

Morning, all, at the church right now where there is internet. Mine at home will be installed Friday (hopefully) and will be here for the weekend. Meanwhile I pop in on the phone, using up my plan's GB's. Still unpacking, it'll be a while yet. But there is a distant gleam at the end of the tunnel.

I am rejigging mine at home right now. Not down, but wifi is up and down so I'm using my LTE more than usual. Hope the boss doesn't take exception (it's a company phone). Planning to get a cabler in and do a proper physical LAN so we're less reliant on wifi. Doesn't work well in all parts of the house and we have some concerns about too much EMF in the house.

Good afternoon. We had a nice walk with friends this morning. We ended up walking about 8 kms which was longer than planned and typical with these friends. I'm happy that my foot liked my newer hikers and that I made it with little problems. It was a nice walk. We enjoyed lunch with them and have been relaxing since we got home. It's a nice day that is quite warm for here. We need rain. There's a fire not far from here. We can see the plume of smoke when we look in that direction. The fire has caused a significant road to be closed so people can't get to and from Port Alberni and beyond.

Yes, managed to locate a place closer to the congregation. Four blocks, rather than 56 kilometres. Much better, though will take a while to get all things set up.
