Lies, Damn Lies, And Public Health Officials: "A Growing Body of Evidence"

Face masks, lies, damn lies, and public health officials: "A growing body of evidence"

A vile new mantra is on the lips of every public health official and politician in the global campaign to force universal masking on the general public: “there is a growing body of evidence”. This propagandistic phrase is a vector designed to achieve five main goals: - Give the false impression that a balance of evidence now proves that masks red...

All clues included ...

On April 22, Dr. Scott Atlas penned an op-ed whose title couldn’t have been clearer:

The data is in — stop the panic and end the total isolation.
My mind has changed over the last several months of watching this unfold - and separating facts from political propaganda. You’re going to stick to your guns on this one...it’s the wrong battle but there’s no changing your mind. You sound like a teenager.

So you think people with underlying conditions should not be allowed to go anywhere so you can be free to do what you want? That’s what the article suggests. Keep the vulnerable in. That’s a lot of people. Of course, disproportionately, already marginalized groups of people. If it was only impacting already infirm seniors who don’t go out anymore, it makes sense for them to be protected from outsiders bringing it in to them -but they are not the only ones impacted. Middle aged adults are ending up on dialysis - and by every account I’ve read of people with more than an extremely mild case, it is not at all like the flu. And severity of virus can increase with exposure to it...more people gathered in public places everyday, more business as usual crowding, more potential exposure, more dead. Since diabetes and obesity are big risk factors even in people under 65 - and right now infection rates are climbing in 18-40 yr olds, that limits a lot of Americans - especially many Americans of colour because they are already more marginalized and have less healthcare and nutrition needs met!! Instead of everyone, limiting their outings, wearing masks and distancing? This point of view is actually heartless.

Wearing a mask isn’t that bad. What’s being asked of you is not that bad. You are being selfish, not seeing beyond how it impacts you.

It is all because of the extreme extension of the populace ... i.e. excess populace growth to increase the marketplace for the upper crusties!

Tis a hard case situation ... peer reviewed lear? Don't look Alice ... tis ABBA's scene!

Powers want more people to die...but to also make sure they shop first so the businesses do okay. Until people working there die too. Then Amazon gets all the business...until their employees die. Then what?

Prior to the beginning of the 20th century virus had such meanings as “venom emitted by a poisonous animal,” and “a morbid corrupting quality in intellectual or moral conditions.”

I thought I would update you on our successful wedding yesterday for my son Pretty good social distancing. Nice weather. The caterer had a few interesting adjustments. The wait staff wore name tags that listed the ingredients in what they were passing to decrease the amount of speaking. They all wore masks. The meal when it was ready was individually portioned out into bowls with a fork and a cardboard cover that listed ingredients and also protected the meal from falling bugs outside and prevented anyone from breathing over the bowls. Everything was smooth and easy.

It is heartening to read about the innovative ways that businesses and individuals adjust to the circumstances. I wish the young couple a union full of joys.

Two week quarantine ended with a couple of post-quarantine days to enjoy family and friends. We were all alone at the trailer at the shore property....swimming, kayaking, enjoying a row boat and archery. It was perfect. Back in town, the almost 11 year old became hooked to video games, movies, and bedtimes that were too late. He didn't necessarily listen to us anymore, so it was time for him to go home. Last Sunday, our daughter drove across the border to pick him up. The two year old was in the back seat and we waved like crazy and blew a million kisses. Hugs to the oldest grandson, and home to tears. When will I see them in person again? Rumours are a border closure of up to two years.

It is not impacting me-my body ... I can stay away from it given the privilege of where I live and that I have no need to 'economically' participate in the madness ... does not mean I can close my eyes as to how it will impact those that are not as privileged as I am. You can keep on bringing it back to my selfishness all you want. If I were selfish I would just relax and ignore the 'staying apart keeps us together' tyranny that is being acted out on the world stage around me.

Over the last eight months we have seen many governments around the world enacting authoritarian practices in the name of preventing the spread of COVID-19. All the way back in January, the Chinese government began welding people in their homes to stop them from potentially contaminating others. As the panic spread around the world eager politicians now had the excuse they needed to push policies which restrict freedom of movement and speech.

The authoritarian measures have now grown to include the following:

checkpoints (asking about travel, checking temperatures)

temperature screenings at some airports

contact tracing apps cataloging all your movements and contacts

– emergency orders/executive orders supporting forced vaccinations, isolation, and quarantine

– involuntary quarantine centers/camps

thermal drones watching people from the sky

talk of mandatory vaccines (or making it difficult to live without vaccination)

face recognition tech to fight covid19 (by tracking people violating lockdowns)

– discussion of immunity passports/digital certificates to travel

censorship of alternative viewpoints

raiding of businesses for not closing

arrests of people violating lockdown (and this, and this)

ankle monitors for those violating quarantine orders

roving cops searching for people not in the “proper” places

While the rise of authoritarianism as the result of a declared global pandemic may seem an unusual response to such an event, there is actually decades worth of research describing why we are witnessing this growth of tyranny. For example, the study Pathogens and Politics: Further Evidence That Parasite Prevalence Predicts Authoritarianism, provides a deeper understanding of how humans react to perceived threats and how that relates to the type of government the people will accept.

The world is dealing with a pandemic. The only thing planned about it was epidemiologists' best practices (which Trump ignored) - they knew some kind of pandemic would hit sooner or later. It's like a bad storm - one should know what to do ahead of time, and it's best if the whole community pitches in. We are one human family and the virus can find a host in any of us. If governments didn't implement protocol many more would be dead - and it's precisely because it's those who can't stay insulated like you can, who are put at higher risk, that makes you selfish on the matter while you sit back and think you know what's going on. Tell it to all the people who have had to go to work - to provide food and other essentials to those who are insulated - this whole time and be put at risk. Lots of them, especially in crowded cities, didn't make it through this. Tell their families that masks are an authoritarian plot.

If you were saying that it doesn't make sense to wear a mask in a rural town with no covid cases, I might agree. But to say it doesn't make sense anywhere - that it's all an authoritarian plot - is a message that is putting people in danger. Therefore, the more you (anti-maskers anti social distancers plural) do that the more they (lawmakers) have to get tough, and that's unfortunate.
