One of the local distilleries is using the alcohol byproduct of making booze, and partnered with a local natural cosmetics company, to produce hand sanitizer spray to give for free to emergency services staff. It's made with pure alcohol, water, vegetable glycerine and some orange essential oil for a slight fragrance and is 70% alcohol content.

I think quite a few of them are doing that. Lots here are just distributing themselves, not partnering up with cosmetic companies. Some are giving it to the hospital first.

Hmm ... The G-20 statement did not detail exactly where the $5 trillion is coming from ....

Will they propose a crypto dollar or a digitized version of the existing dollar?

I suspect that the 'war' on cash is getting ramped up.

Nations are passing laws and pushing propaganda to dissuade the use of cash and encourage (or enforce) the use of digital currencies.

UBI is coming ... but if it is digital ... then it is really just Social Credit scoring.

Wonder what we have to do (or not do) to garner our ranking.

As people around the world are taking social distancing measures to keep their communities safe Coastal Gas Link and the RCMP continue to bring in workers from all over Canada during a pandemic putting both workers and entire northern communities with limited medical staff at grave risk.

At the same time the the oil and gas industry are mobilizing to get government bailouts as the crash in oil prices has made much of their production unprofitable and made the economics of projects like LNG Canada even more dubious.

Many investors have already pulled away from CGL, but KKR an American investment firm has stated plans to buy 65% of the Coastal GasLink pipeline.

That sound a lot like what my daughter described ... high alcohol spray on ... smells like orange ... but leaves your hands soft.

Maybe it's a product they can sell later. The distillery reached out to the cosmetic company as I understand it. They have the little spray bottles on hand already and give the product a bit of a friendly, familiar "feel" I guess. Hand sanitizer straight from a distillery might sound sketchy to people here.

I have some I was given at the start of the shortage. It's got lemon, clove, spearmint, maybe something else - and alcohol and water. It's pretty strong. Almost like men's cologne, that combo, with the clove oil. When work was still open I couldn't use it there or use it within 1/2 hr at least of being there (I wouldn't even walk into work to wash my hands because the smell would linger). But just a slight bit of orange oil that wears off would be ok.

Not sure what you are asking? She thinks it is very good ... as do her friends that she is sharing it with. I am sure it will be a featured and sought after addition to their product list once or if they get back to business as usual.
I scanned through this page about flammable alcohol products. I thought you were warning against.

Nope ... was just pointing out how disappointed they were that they were not 'allowed' to make good use of it without 'authority'.

Alcohol products are flammable. Don't put on hand sanitizer and then say tend to a bbq immediately. Doesn't matter if it's a typical traditional product like purell or one of the making it for now distillery ones.

Well, I wouldn’t do that. I already figured as much. You don’t want to flambé your hands...or your hair. It’s the same for hairspray and some other hair products.

Yep, same in NS. One is donating theirs to the foodbank. The think with starting your own business like Ritas relative seems to want to do- there needs to be some standards so its clear that it works. Too many quack suggestions on the internet. If you want to make your own for yourself, go ahead. If you want to sell it, it needs to have some guarantee that the consistency is so that it works or you are putting people at risk. Same with new ideas of sewing your own masks. Doesn’t work. Just makes people believe they are safe.

But then I've read doctors saying tying a scarf over your face is better than nothing at all. Saw a guy with a bandana over his face in the grocery store, and another, heading into the parking lot, wearing a full-face cover motorcycle helmet - on a bicycle.

Is common sense a not so common entity and thus ethereal. Does ether burn? Imagine a flamed mind ... in essence!

Sometimes you can see the red glow in their ayes ...

It is an already established business that produces it's own line of mostly organic soaps ... they have the production facilities and product on hand to make hand sanitizer ... they just had not been doing it ... till they saw this need ... but they are not allowed to produce it for sale due to some liability issues. It would have kept some production workers on staff had they been able to ... but were not. They themselves are using it and sharing it as they are able.

I get the picture of two people in the halves of a horse ... sometimes the ends get turned about!

What a bummer, considering the self-effacing definition of backing off, humbling and stand down personel ... lo' humus?

Then there is this on audi and the connection to the horse listener ... one must expand the sensitivities ...

The company name is based on the Latin translation of the surname of the founder, August Horch. "Horch", meaning "listen" in German, becomes "audi" in Latin. The four rings of the Audi logo each represent one of four car companies that banded together to create Audi's predecessor company, Auto Union. (from WIKI)
