Colleagues at work are saying that restaurants who are now only can do take outs have significantly increased the price- likely to make up for missing business. But- that might backfire. My hunch is that as corona spreads, people are getting suspicious of who might have coughed on the take out food and maybe tend to cook their own?
How is that in ON and BC?

I'm watching a press conference - Ford (Ontario) just said they will be 'going after' any person or business who is price gouging/profiteering from the current crisis.
Big pharma? Insurance companies? Government talking heads like himself?

My heart broke for him - a camper that cost about $100,000 and he felt too poor to pay for parking!!
You can't always assume that someone driving a $100,000 camper has paid it in full ... 100,000 plus interest ... payments must be pretty steep. Perhaps the notion of free parking was part of what made it 'affordable in the long haul'. So many variables to consider when connecting the dots.

Trudeau/ Freeland are in talks to keep Trump from putting US troops on the Canada/ US border.
The same type of Trudeau/Freeland talks that resulted in the government established immoral association of subordination with the government of President Donald Trump with the clear aim of overthrowing Venezuela’s constitutional government using economic sanctions as political weapons?

Still, people returning from the US have been told about the restrictions and need to be able to plan accordingly.

People like myself have been telling about the 'restrictions' coming down the pike for years and years. WHO has planned accordingly?

Edit: people 'unliked' like myself?

Who can plan accordingly indeed. Still, for people who are changing their plans and heading home sooner than planned, I would expect that they are doing this because they are aware of the circumstances. RVers are a resourceful bunch as a rule, and help each other out. Most RVers I know are capable of doing something like plan a way to get supplies/groceries.

Well, I can't speak to WHO specifically, that's for sure......
Not to worry WHO will speak to YOU (albeit through 'the group') ...

During the G-20 videoconference, World Health Organization Director General Tedros Ghebreyesus addressed the group about the need to finance and produce more personal protection equipment like masks and gloves for besieged medical workers across the globe.

The current G-20 chairman, King Salman of Saudi Arabia, said he called the "virtual summit" to work on a "global response" to the coronavirus pandemic.

"As the world confronts the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges to healthcare systems and the global economy, we convene this extraordinary G20 summit to unite efforts towards a global response," he tweeted before the meeting. "May God spare humanity from all harm."

I never assume that people actually own the 'stuff' they have and use. These guys could be in that group of Canadians who are still deeply in debt at retirement age. Eventually things need to be paid off. We paid off three mortgages in a row on a teacher's income, with four kids. We had a mortgage on our first house. Paid. Bought some land on a mortgage. Paid. Built a new house on our land with a mortgage and savings. Paid. Perfectly doable if you live thoughtfully and frugally. We also had a car all those years (different ones) and bought a modest, affordable camper for cash. I see no reason to pander to those who choose to go into debt for non essentials.

I agree it is terrible that people aren’t following guidelines. but of course why were they guidelines instead of rules, obligations.......

I know a few retirees who sold their houses to buy RVs and travel. a nomadic life. Not for me for sure

I think there are many ways to do things - and lots of people choose to sell up their house and go RVing. Some pay for the RV others take out a loan for it. My personal view is - avoid all non essential debt. I know a couple in their late 70's who have an RV on a permanent site in Florida. They also have a small trailer - 15' - that they tour with for nine months of each year.
