I'm afraid rapid testing is going to be on an honour system of self reporting.
As long as availability is good though, it would be something. I'm not suggesting to switch the REP program either, in those cases no to the take home ones. Of the vaccinated I think most people want to avoid spread.

BC has put in some restrictions today. They fit with how I'm living anyway so I don't remember details. Some gatherings are restricted. Those are gatherings that don't interest me at this point anyway.

Can people let the other know ... given our propensity for disconnections and anti socializing?

Maybe be a severe conserving republic item of worry ... that's Anis in archaic word as archetype! Don't worry ... the powers will shaft you anyway possible ... see the CNN article on the the play buoyed wonder ... a floater? Much avarice indicated over the bimbos ...

Bimbos are empty headed folk that were denied education ... an old leaning, cast or tilde ... affected psyche in general!

Are honor systems withstanding to all the lies laid out by powers for example to the underlings? And we wonder what could go wrong ... the only thing that escaped was nothing ... an absolute escape! Such things bleed themselves dry like dark stars ... with light deduction it is gone ...

Today we visit with a son and family - he is unvaxxed and insulting about those who made the alternate choice. DIL and grandkid are as protected as they can be. It doesn't break any 'rules' but I don't plan to stay long, or hug him. This will be our Christmas visit and we will deliver the little guy's gift. The plan was to cautiously visit with a daughter on the 25th but that plan is up in the air right now. On Thursday they heard that SIL's mum isn't doing well with cancer. Friday they were advised to get there ASAP.

Imagine people having a vacancy regarding vaccinations in a term of time when people are getting sick left, right and centre and they still dispose of such considerations ...

It is enough to drive a beadle to sing a song ...

How exactly can retail workers cut their "daily contacts" by half? Especially grocery/pharmacy workers who are forced to interact with some level of unmasked people.

I feel like I'm back to MRI roulette. I'm not so concerned now though if it does get postponed. As long as medications can be accessed I think phototherapy would have the biggest impact if it's cancelled.

Yes, this pandemic is definitely wearing A LOT on those who have routine medical needs that are getting postponed, cancelled, due to a need to allocate staff appropriately to COVID care. I have a boarder, an older woman, an ex-co-worker that I have known for many years. She needs surgery for a hernia. It's not life threatening, but it's disfiguring, and limits her. She can't get the surgery she needs.

Albertans are asked to reduce daily contacts by half.
What exactly does that mean?

Half assed ... it takes two of these cheeky components to drive some urges on and on ... so there it goes! And still the ordinary folk, common pagans ar''s crewed ... that is bunched up ... tribalism for paying tribute as over taxed to support deducted administration without clues ... happens without bottom line experience ... thus it goes down! All this in mine ... da deep hole! The unknown's darker side ... in possessive tense it grasps ...

Donkeys kick and bite to the end ... can protect sheep! That flock in forward position ... semi-rounders!

Kenney has really put stress on a lot of people. My sister is at hospitals going right through to the 23rd. Normally she would have a break before Christmas using vacation time. Of course, she had a big lull earlier in the fall due to all the surgery cancellations.
Free take home tests - many pharmacies received on the 17th. The system to input healthcare numbers was done, so some pharmacies waited, others just recorded them to input later - no idea how many people doubled up before their numbers were input. Hopefully not many, especially knowing they will be caught. Vaccine boosters opened up to 18+ and reduced wait time to 5 months on the 21st. So pharmacies still dealing with free test kits now have a bunch of people looking to get vaccines too. And the test kits are all over the place, the pharmacy I use was supposed to get them this morning, she got them this afternoon. Pharmacists also were not given advanced warning, sometimes there were people phoning in about appointments due to the changes when pharmacists hadn't even caught up on the changes themselves yet.

My son just called me, stressed by the impact of the virus on his Xmas plans. One treat today was going to be a D&D "one-off" game, which has just been cancelled because the DM has had a covid contact. The other was one of his part-time jobs, as janitorial/cleaning staff in a local motel. All of their Christmas bookings have been cancelled.

I wouldn't blame Kenney or Ford or the BC people, or the feds, really. No-one knows what they're doing; they're flying by the seat of their pants and making random bad decisions in a panic.

I've had a slightly worsened cough the last week (I always have a bit of a cough due to allergies), no fever, no other symptoms, so I'm just putting it down to increased Christmas greenery exposure; at church, at work, out walking. I have some serious evergreen allergies; have not been able to tolerate a live tree, or even a live wreath on the front door, in decades. I do not have the time to spend hours at the testing centre, so I'm assuming that it's my seasonal Christmas tree problem. I need to make liver and sweet potato chips for dogs, truffles and 420 salve for humans by the 26th/29th.

Yes and no.
I think opening vaccinations up they way they did was a little over the top here. We went from 50+, minimum of 6 months timeframe to 18+, minimum of 5 months timeframe. Announcement wasn't preplanned, and was during working hours in the morning. Had pharmacists been sent a memo first or even announcing it in the evening would have eased some pressures.

Also this restaurant vs. private gathering BS. Beginning of Dec the rule was 2 households only for private gatherings, all vaxxed, max 10 adult. Restaurants, no table # restrictions, so a group of 30 may have pre-booked Christmas, some in party rooms. Vaccination not required with a negative covid test done at a pharmacy.

Now? Private gatherings, household limit removed, vaccination status removed. 10 adults max is the only restriction still in place. Restaurants? 10 max per table (and maybe it's my mistake but I thought I heard 10 only at a time dining in during the announcement, but online it does state per table not per restaurant), no mingling between tables. There's an alcohol curfew as well as an overall curfew.

There's also religionism? what do you call that? at play. Diwali - no changes. Hanukkah - no changes. Christmas - Kenney drops the 2 household rule and the vaccination rule because families are going to gather anyway for Christmas, so lets change the law.

I come from such a small family that these restrictions seem very reasonable. My most prolific sister will have 7 at her table (two of her kids are long distance). If I were at Bleak House in the U.K., there'd be 6 households (two of them single seniors) for a total of 2 children, 1 unvaxxed, 2 very elderly people, like 90s, and 8 non-senior adults, all as vaxxed as possible. Total 12. The Mom and Dad with the wee baby might decide to eat alone.

It's the flip flopping that doesn't make sense. Why ease up on personal gatherings while tightening up on restaurants?
