No one else can handle the extreme awesomeness of being me.

Yeah, that is kind of the angle I think you were looking for. You, um, awesomely messed it up.

Perhaps if we stop talking about it nobody will notice.

LOOK over there udbe's starting a thread in Social! (play along and may be can sell it).

I think it will help generate interest if the rates are 'in the league' when it comes to pricing retreats, etc.

I can imagine it as a place where our 'sister' Jewish synagogue and we at G United could consider a 'deep Torah educational' weekend.

I'd also like to imagine a time when wondercafe2 had enough Ontario members to consider a serious Wondergathering.

Tatamagouche center sent out a rather troubling email today from the board of directors, kind of an apology to " people being hurt in the process" . As someone who is not in the process but just an occaisional user of the Centre it is rather worrysome, as it only tells that they are still circling around personal issues. Only people who are affected would have understood this apology letter.....
I hope five oaks is off to a better start...

I am sorry to hear that. One of our team popped in when her family was travelling down that way. She had a nice visit. That resulted in a call from Tatamagouche staff to me (Five Oaks volunteer) to discuss the software that we are implementing.

Please move your non-Five Oaks discussion elsewhere. Last ask. Next one I will ask that you be blocked from the thread @Jae, @dreamerman

Interesting that you just say us when @revjohn has also talked non-Five-Oaks.

Now, so that this post is about Five Oaks, I will just say that the one time I visited there, I found it a nice place. The woods were quite nice. The rooms pleasant for its kind of facility. I would definitely recommend to any spiritual kind of group that they meet there.

As I recall there was also a nice little UCCanada book store there. Will something be going in to take its place?

The bookstore will stay. They are working with partners to source material, and in fact, already carry material suitable for partners.

Remember: United Church of Canada remains a partner

@Mrs.Anteater . I read the letter on their site.

I have no clue as to specifics and am not privy to anything re their process, but I can relate.

I haven't apologized so many times to people as I have in the last months.

Long time partners set aside for programs that never materialized. Errors.

I feel for any of the groups trying to make things work.

I also thankful to those who bring our missteps to our attention. We then have the chance to fix. Can't if they just walk away

Nice that the bookstore will be staying. Five Oaks seems like a great place to, among other things, do some reflective reading. Will they be adding books from other faith traditions as well?

I sometimes think we need a 'concern' button to let people know that we hear them and ccare. I have never visited Tatamagouche center myself but I always took pleasure in knowing it was there. I have friends who are deeply involved - to the point that it is the main beneficiary in their Wills.
It wouldn't seem right to hit the 'like' button for this post. (A situation I've run into with a few posts on different topics lately.)

Jae, do you have specific books in mind? They have books that fit the market they serve. I am not privy to the full inventory but if you have questions you can find them "grand River book store"

I've just caught up on this thread. It is nice to see so much love and work going into the project. I don't have anything to add at this point. I haven't had a lot of experience with Five Oaks, though did participate in a music retreat with a women's choir and @Pinga

I now understand why it takes up so much of your time and passion Pinga.

No specific books at this time, thank you Pinga. I'm glad to hear the bookstore will continue at Five Oaks.
