Looking for a thumbs up or down for these movies :

Won't you be my neighbour

I have an opportunity to see either of them this week. What what you choose....why?
 
Four of us went to see "Christopher Robin".

The trailer pulled at my heart strings with memories of the favourite little movie I played my sons -- the original 4 shorts of Winne the Pooh.
Interesting -- one person had never saw any of the Winnie the Pooh movies, one had only watched the never, never saw the classic, and the other had some memroy.
We each had different reactions, but, all enjoyed.
I found the first part of the movie slow/painful, in part as I wanted to get to Pooh! It was cute. It wasn't fabulous, but, it was a nice night out with some good smiles, and some tugs of meory.
Clearly my age was the target group.

Haven't seen either of them - you might want to check them out on the Rotten Tomatoes website - we use that a lot to look up movies.
 
Thanks....That's a good suggestion Carolla and I have done so. I guess to clarify, I'd really like to hear anyone's personal take on these movies if they've seen them.
 
Tonight we watched "The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society" - really enjoyed it. Well cast. interesting story telling (I think somewhat based on factual occupation of Guernsey during the war) beautiful settings & locations in the UK. I had read the book some years ago and enjoyed that, so thought I would also like the movie - and I did. My mate had not read the books and definitely enjoyed the movie too. So two thumbs up from us for this one :-)

Watched the trailer
Looks majestic
(poor woman, having to choose between such handsomness)
I'm also a sucker for scenes with letters, paper envelopes getting opened and touched

Oh and apparently the dish actually exists
 
I only knew because an old friend of my Mom's was from Guernsey and she used to tell me about her mainland foster situation during the war years.

Imagine divided children ... with the imposition of fear and anger for unknown reasons ... to the paradigm ... dark forces hide things .. and to bare them one must do some undercover work ... word can obscure a great deal of good, bad and ugly, etc.

The potential is expansive ... a test ... to occupy some minds and keep them from committing avarice ... sort of akin to St. Eve ... a purple shadow in the northern skye ...


Consider the purple stain ... the other side of the blue ... but perhaps just a word with subtle understanding ... a bit psychic schism? Complexities abound contrary to those desiring simple ...

Can some word reveal a lot? Psyche if you can catcher in the naked ... without institutionalized interpretation it may expound!

Pinga, thanks for your recommendation of the Christopher Robin movie. my sister Myrtle and I are going to see if this afternoon in Brockville. This is this is the last day of a wonderful visit with my sisters. Glad to hear that you're also spent spending some time with a sister.
 
And off topic of movies, a sister and I are going to London on Friday, just for the day, to look at a trailer and the possibility of modifying the hitch, and seeing our godfather. Good to work sister time into your life when you can.
