yes, and northwind, I know that you will be gracious, and increase in firmness as you require.
That is your nature.

If it wasn't, then I might suggest you enlist someone who could be an advocate, who wasn't as personally impacted, or could be part of your advocacy team.

Then again, everyone reacts differently at different times, so consider who might be able to be an advocate with you.

Thanks Pinga. Hubby will come with me to appointments. He is an excellent support. As is my sister. She will be a good advocate if necessary. Right now I need to do it as a way to cope. Thankfully I've had lots of practice regulating my emotions and responses in stressful situations.

Many will be thinking of you and sending supportive thoughts your way. I am confident you are a match for a system that isn't doing what it meant to do.

Thanks Kay. I believe I fell through a small crack. Hopefully that will be sorted out today.

In an ideal world one's health care would be crack free. As you advocate for yourself keep ahead of them whenever possible. If they say we will phone on Wednesday - phone them as a reminder after lunch. When 'something' is supposed to happen try to remember to demand a contact person for that action. NEVER accept vague remarks like - we will schedule an appointment. Ask WHO will and when!

If I don't hear first thing this morning, I will be phoning. And by that I mean I'll call by 10 or so. The doctor who referred me is on walk-in today. I may go there. I'm thinking though that the surgeon is the one with pertinent info right now

So I've sorted things out. I've talked to both the surgeon's office and the referring clinic's office. Turns out the surgeon's fax isn't working properly so it hadn't gone through. Also, the doctor I met spoke to the surgeon directly and neither assistant knew. At any rate it's all cleared up and I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon

I’m glad to hear it’s been sorted out, added stress on top of an already stressful time is not nice. I hope your appointment tomorrow goes as well as it can and you come out with a plan that you are ok with.

I agree, Northwind. Whenever I'm stressed I DO something. Somehow action seems to take the edge off stress. All the best for your appointment tomorrow - I suspect that there'll be many of us here on WC2 crammed into the doctor's office with you!

I love this virtual community. Thanks

The appointment is 3:30 Pacific Time. We may need prayers beforehand to find the place....... Thankfully they have parking behind the building

@Northwind - I just want to say that I am thankful that you chose to retire when you did and have had some time to just be and rest prior to this part of your journey.
I am hoping that being retired during this process and living as you do in such beauty is a good place to be.
I trust that you & your spouse will make any necessary changes, should they arise, but, again, from the outside looking in, it seems that this has been a good time of restoration for you.
