Humor? I currently have a neurological problem plus difficulty standing and walking paradox3.

My neurological problem seems to be increasing @paradox3. It's a buzzing in my head, and a metallic taste in my mouth. A couple of mornings ago I woke up at 2 a.m. and, in the stillness of the night, could really feel it.

Since I'm at this thread - my knee is still broken, but I'm moving around well enough that I managed to "move" downstairs where I have my own self contained privacy and am out of my parents' way. We share the kitchen but to save time and diffuse tension (I have to sit in my walker seat at the table because I can't stand up from the regular kitchen chairs which means bringing it upstairs and moving chairs around which my mom gets frustrated with too - she is really bad at being around sick and injured people for more than a day or two - her reaction is more like anger than compassion. I never understood it, except that I know her upbringing was hard) my stepdad has been bringing me meals! We are all better off that way. Upstairs was obviously feeling a little crowded and tensions were rising - but I don't have any better options right now. I should've stayed in hospital for a little while to begin with, but the system is too stretched.

We moved the toilet gadget down here, and the bathtub bench out of the way unless needed, so their upstairs bathroom looks less "like a hospital ward", which really bothered my mother's aesthetic sensibilities - she hates hospitals - and wasn't helping us all get along.

She's being very kind to me from the top of the stairs. That's nothing to shake a stick at.

I did "escape" by myself the other day. It probably wasn't the wisest idea but I had to get out of here. It took me 3x as long to walk to the bus stop. Then I went to the nearest mall. In one section of the food court there are armchairs and coffee tables, so I got a coffee - carried it in a cup/ bottle holder I attached to my walker - and put my leg up on the furniture. Yes! Foot...on... Furniture! How freeing. Felt good to be on my own. There are also wheelchairs there, available for loan, which I used a couple of times on other occasions when I was given a ride down there.

Now, I have a bad cold. Which is not a welcome addition but I know it will get better faster than the knee.

Blessings on your health Kimmio.

Are furniture like Wotan heads ?

In some BS ... it goes against the grain ... like the cross-arms ... when the sol end of god looks up as humbled by mortals as not allowed to drive the curiosity to learn strange things ... even archaic, dead tongues ... some say they give birth to new ones so the understanding can contribute to chaos in the continuum!

Ever see evidence of ongoing chaos ? One must fit in ... conform to convention!

Metallic taste can indicate liver issues. Try cinnamon. Those little red hearts. Can help with taste more than peppermint Just don’t bite them

Interesting Lastpointe. Can liver problems also give a buzzing in the head?

I don't think so Kimmio. Should know more after April 12 when I'm scheduled for an EEG.

It must be heartening to note that the medical folk don't see your situation as serious. Scans come much quicker than yours for really threatening symptoms.

Yep. If it was more serious no doubt they would have sent me to the hospital. Even so, it is present.

That I don’t know but it could be an inner ear issue
Not sure if what Jae is describing is something like that or more related to the brain. I know I've heard of people describing 'brain zaps' due to changes in medications like anti-depressants. Not sure if what Jae is saying is similar?

My neurologist told me the sensation I'm having is not a usual side effect of my medicine. Another thought I had was that the metallic taste in my mouth might be a dental issue, but my dentist said no.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply in your case it was medication (unless you're on something new/altered dose of something that would do that). Just wondering if it's a similar sensation although in your case the epilepsy would be the factor I suspect.

A friend of mine developed permanent tinnitus from a cold turkey withdrawal from SSRIs. I can imagine that a persistent noise in your head would be disconcerting. I get wyrd auras with jagged rainbow edges that are, apparently, visual migraines, periodically. It's never happened when driving, fortunately; it's a little un-nerving. Don't like erratic senses. Declining is another matter, lol...

A toss up between neurosis and deep psychosis ... but then how would we know if we are directed by the gods of passion that leave chaos in their wake ...

Then there are those lower half syndromes ... we are directed not to be cognizant of these either ... I'm definitely going to be dead ... as knowledge will kill yah ... regarding the frustration of desirous excesses! Gods of that sort can be dangerous as they get into avarice ...
