I agreeToday I spent nothing despite all the marketing telling me it was black Friday. Excessive consumerism is the last thing I'm interested in.
Not worried about them...more worried about the small local business owners.
I've been switching my tea buying to a local shop. Better selection and prices than David's.
What about Calgary Coop? I would call it local, but a chain. I don't know if North-Central Coop is something you consider to be 'the Co-op'. I am a partial owner.I was talking about really co-operatives, not "the Co-op"... There's a little group of them starting up in my county, none yet in my City. Here's a nice example of one in my area: http://www.thekarmaprojectinc.com/ They tend to be a bit hippie-ish, but so, of course, do I...
And LAST (still up, *sigh*)
Calgary Co-op does have local produce, but they also have produce from China which would have a huge carbon footprint as it must be flown in. Have to watch what you are buying. Also a locally owned IGA that carries some local produce. Like going to the local market in season to get Alberta and BC produce. Oh and one more thing, I'm last again. What about Calgary Coop? I would call it local, but a chain. I don't know if North-Central Coop is something you consider to be 'the Co-op'. I am a partial owner.
Is the Baptist Burger a chain or just a coop where you go to get ... fake un ditties? Ditties refers to small words ... those faint whispers in de night ... some say white noise ...
