On this Easter morning I have been doing a little advance preparation for dinner & I am making a broccoli salad which calls for chopped cooked bacon. So I cooked a little extra and we had bacon sandwiches for breakfast. Yum!

Off to church soon while Mr. Paradox carries on with the cooking.
Happy Easter LAST posters!

I had a great breakfast. My son's girlfriend in the romance of the century is from Liberia, and her mother made me an African dish which I had for breakfast. It was simple, but quite delightful - home made rolls with (I think) very soft bacon, something like mayonnaise (but better) and, I think, melted cheese. I have not yet tried what appear to be dark brown, deep-fried rolls about the size of golf balls.

I called my granddaughters, speaking in a high voice, to say I was the Easter bunny, and I wondered whether they had unwrapped the two elephants I sent. But they figures it was me. That's the trouble with kids today.

Update: mom still in Lacombe as there was no bed available in Red Deer...still hasn't seen the doctor. Will hopefully know more this afternoon.

Thanks Luce.

And, congrats P3 on getting post 5,000. I didn't realie how close we were. (y)(y)
Why, thank you, BethAnne!

* bows humbly *

I wondered if anyone would notice. (I only noticed myself when Graeme made the 5002nd LAST post.)

No one was racing for it this time. Crazyheart must be off her game!

For this Easter, I wrote my blog about the utter failure of people who profess religion to show even a trace of religious behaviour. This occurred to me as I noted the fact that some of the worst mass murderers of my lifetime have been regular church attenders like Lyndon Johnson, both Bush's, Obama.... and our own Stephen Harper who belongs to a very far out evangelical church for rich people. I know that church and state should be separate just as taxi-drivers and state are separate. But the church should help its people to understand politics in a Christian context. What we have instead are churches that submit themselves to the dominance of the state - which really mans to the dominance of big money.

Sorry to drift off onto a lesser topic. It's been a busy day. I had to help my Chinese granddaughter in Ottawa with her homework. I was able to tell her that her great-great-great-etc. grandfather, born in Montreal about 1660 the godchild of Sieur de Maisonneuve, the founder of the city, and Jeanne Mance who built the first hospital in the city.

And, even better, she is the granddaughter of Graeme Decarie.

Greetings!

Hope everything turns out okay for your mom, BethAnne.

5000+ and going strong.

Company left today . . . had a great weekend.

Best wishes and positive energy for your mom BethAnne. Can't remember the last time I missed out on the glorious music of Easter Sunday but woke dizzy this morning so stayed home. Still not completely right, hopefully it will pass with a good sleep tonight.

Thanks everyone. Red Deer Hospital ICU refused to let them do her blood transfusion there so they did it in Lacombe and she may need another transfusion tomorrow. Also the doctor - who wasn't in today and not back till tomorrow - is concerned about blood loss and wants to run tests...mom thinks she'll be home tomorrow, sounds like she'll be in there for a few days yet. Guess we'll have to see.

Bearable ... like stripping the soul down to subtle fabrications ... foundation ware? Just a fantastic thought when discounting those that would cover-up ... an abstract occasion for my passions ... them being out there!
