Perhaps. I'm going to allow myself to wallow in my mostly-chicken-ball-related crapulence for the evening.

Pacing yourself as in spacing out courses and going easy on very filling sides like white rice, not necessarily not pigging out.

I've worked out a colour-coded system for myself.

Blue - drink water instead of soda pop.

Greens - first course will be the healthiest soup there. Second course will be healthy salad.

Yellow - third course will be middle-of-the-road kinds of foods like baked fish , grilled chicken , and steamed rice .

Red - Fourth course will be whatever I want baby.

Purple - Fifth course will be the ever-so-delectable desserts.

The dessert table was my favorite part on Mandarin. Rest was no better or worse than other Asian-themed buffets I've patronized but they have the best dessert table by far. Fresh Belgian waffles with do-it-yourself toppings for the win.
