Indeed we are. Google Maps has given us an alternate route to avoid this section near Barrie. My husband wants to stay on the four lane.....

Barrie is where things get really hairy in my experience. Esp. you take 400 from Barrie to Toronto. Weekdays are worse, of course. At least you're not competing with commuter traffic on a Sunday.

Had someone tell me today that I need to preach the Bible. When I asked her what she meant, she told me that I must preach from the KJV.

I always want to think this whole "the KJV is the REAL Bible" thing is urban legend but then some drip comes along to prove me wrong.

Did you mention that it was actually put together by a committee? Not that she'd believe you or anything.

No, I didn't correct her. I said, "the KJV is a good version." She said, "It's an excellent version!" Then someone else wanted to talk with me about something different.

Oh well, takes all types to make a church. I do love the language of the KJV (I'm also a Shakespeare fan so that probably makes sense) but it has issues related to its age and provenance so I generally don't look to it that often save for familiar favorite passages like Psalm 23 that simply don't resonate as well in any modern translations I've found.

I also like the Christmas story best read from the KJV.

Horizontal at last. It was a longer than necessary drive south on highways 11 and 400 today. It took way too long to get past Gravenhurst! I hope everyone got to their destinations safely and are now enjoying a quiet evening.

Last question ... Has anyone read God's Secretaries?

It is an investigation into the actions of King James Scribes and interpreters of strange myths from other world views ...

I do believe these strange Kurios had a lot of phun with the metaphorical values hidden in descript form ...

LASTed long enough to watch Kelly Sutherland's final race and the Dash for Cash and then I collapsed...still down and out.

I actually watched some bull-riding last night. Glad to see helmets are the norm in that event now. A ten gallon hat doesn't help much when a bull throws you off its back onto your head. That one could be your LAST ride.
