We just stopped at the Tim's/Wendy's at Epanola. What a gong show that place is. We made it out after LASTing through the lines.

Sorry to hear things were gongshowish.

Having worked at a Tim Hortons before I know that it is Timmys policy to serve customers in as friendly, professional and swift a way as possible.

What a day. We started our day on the shores of Lake Superior. We ended our day in south central Ontario in rolling farmland country and cottage country. I love driving across this HUGE country where we see so many regions, often in a day. Our feet are up AT LAST and we are winding down after a long day's drive.

Missed the first few heats as they kept interrupting the broadcast with tornado warnings for the west country...didn't hear that any touched down, weather fine in Calgary...we had sunshine, thunder and LOTS of lightening - all at the same time - and a few drops of rain.

What's up @BethAnne ? How was the weather in hour area last night. Any effects from the t-storms or tornados? It is not very hot here now but it does feel muggy. I notice the humidity even at these cooler temperatures. On the positive side, my skin is less dry.

Not sure if it is just the heat affecting me or the stress of trying to find someone to get groceries and drive me to appointments and deliver papers next week.

We didn't have anything in terms of weather - didn't even break the heat here - very muggy/humid for this area....other places got hail and rain but no tornadoes.

Feel better soon BethAnne.

Just back from a beach on Northumberland Strait. I've been going their for years - but something scary happened this time. I was walking on the sand dunes when the tide was out, and stepped in a shallow bit of water between the dunes. My feet sank into something I had never encountered before - a small patch that seemed like a cross between quicksand and a terrible muck. At the same time, a heavy wind hit and knocked me down. But my feet remained stuck. I got one foot loose, but couldn't move the other. (And the tide was coming in.)
Eventually, sticking my hands out to firmer sand, I was able claw enough to get both feet out. But any attempt to stand just sank me again. So, using my hands and stomach, I clawed my way to a sand dune where I hoped to able to stand. Luckily, and to save time, the only other swimmer on the beach spotted me, and he gave me a hand to get up.
Very unpleasant.
I still don't know what that was I stuck my foot in. It was a very small patch - but dangerous.
