Great day to be inside doing a jigsaw puzzle and NOT shopping at the mall.

It goes without saying that it is also a great day to be in LAST place.

Here in Ontario, someone decided long ago that the best way to confirm one's eligibility for health care funding is to have an account accessed by a ten digit account number on a piece of plastic. Later, they added a photo and security features to fight fraud. The fact is that it now looks almost identical to a driver's license save in colour and generally expires at the same time (expiry is another security measure by forcing them to check your eligibility, address, etc. regularly). Which is why I think we could go down to just one card.
Here, it's a 9 digit number on a piece of paper with one's name.
No expiry, although I had mine laminated it's still getting pretty tattered.

I think ours may have been like that 20 odd years ago? I know the driver's license used to be paper with a separate photo card before evolving into the current plastic mag-stripe photocard. Older Ontarians may recall better than I.

I remember the two part driver's licence here in Ontario. Funny how hard it is to recall exactly when it was phased out.

Ontario has been phasing in the health cards with pic. I was instructed to get one this year but I know many people who have had them for ages and ages. Or so it seems.

It feels about as useless as carrying around a SIN card, although that's at least plastic.

I've had mine about a decade now, I think. Mrs. M actually got switched earlier. Little M has a green card since birth but didn't have to get a photo until he was 16. Apparently over his next couple renewals, they will sync it up with his license now that he has one.

When I first came to Ontario in the late 80's, I got a red and white medical card, name and number. Moved to MB for 8-9 years, when I came back in 2009 to Ontario, got a photo ID health card. As far as I know, the red and white would not expire; this picture ID has an expiration date

In the Jack art loam ... he was carded out ... a rising popper?

In old English these were known as Poppists ... who would ring monis out of the poor for forgetting all sins ... especially sects ... you Wahl things ... causing separation to make the heart stronger ...

Last. Tired, ready for a nap, but tonight is my church's International Christmas Dinner. Fun, music and great food from around the world. We're all wearing traditional cultural garb too. I'll be sporting blue jeans, a Canada t-shirt, a red/black plaid shirt, hiking boots, and my Tilley hat.
