Here, it's a 9 digit number on a piece of paper with one's name. Here in Ontario, someone decided long ago that the best way to confirm one's eligibility for health care funding is to have an account accessed by a ten digit account number on a piece of plastic. Later, they added a photo and security features to fight fraud. The fact is that it now looks almost identical to a driver's license save in colour and generally expires at the same time (expiry is another security measure by forcing them to check your eligibility, address, etc. regularly). Which is why I think we could go down to just one card.

No expiry, although I had mine laminated it's still getting pretty tattered.
It feels about as useless as carrying around a SIN card, although that's at least plastic.I think ours may have been like that 20 odd years ago? I know the driver's license used to be paper with a separate photo card before evolving into the current plastic mag-stripe photocard. Older Ontarians may recall better than I.
Just had an oil change plus a few other things done on my car too. $188 later. But it's warmer here. -1 with a chance of freezing rain. But I'm home and safe.-12 and I'm off to get the oil changed in the van.
I remember the two part driver's licence here in Ontario. Funny how hard it is to recall exactly when it was phased out.
Ontario has been phasing in the health cards with pic. I was instructed to get one this year but I know many people who have had them for ages and ages. Or so it seems.
Red and white has no expiry date until you are notified to go for your photo ID health card.
Oh? Did we 'misplace' a card somewhere along the way?
