Don't think I shared when I made cinnamon buns the other day...made more today. Used chocolate milk as that's what I have on hand and this time I mixed a little ground clove into the cinnamon. It's a biscuit, not yeast, recipe which I wasn't sure about originally, but this is definitely a keeper. Oh! My! Yum!

Also, update on the mock chicken loaf - tastes better warm if wanting the "meatloaf" experience, otherwise it's more like a quick bread when eaten cold.

BA, love the looks of your cinnamon buns; you're right - there are two distinct traditions - those that have a biscuit pastry, and those that have a yeast pastry. Yours look great, although still no milk for me. We made scalloped potatoes with cashew milk, which were pretty good.

For recipes that take larger amounts of milk, I've been using canned coconut milk because I discovered I still had some in the cupboard

Personally, I still prefer cow's milk overall. The nut/coconut milks work better in some recipes than others. Also, they are a nice change/treat sometime. I also prefer to make my own (except coconut milk) as easier to control the ingredients
