Thank you for the invitation Redhead. Christmas is a time when I gather together with family and dear friends to especially celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Are people crazy in a virtue all sense this time of year? No wonder some sur-power ... arranged for a time of rest ...

Is Big Sur just an imagination compared to the subtle sous-power that brings men to their knees? The female-at-ease ... red q'wee nee ... the father and the other distracting Eros ...

Never tell an authority something they already know and see how well they react to stranger things ... they stop and see what's let fly ... NOSH-ite at this place if you keep your head down ... and subtly ponder ...

First, good to see you redhead and Merry Christmas

The family will all visit Crazy Dad on Boxing Day. A very different Christmas.

Hi Redhead! So nice to see you here again - blessings of the season to you. I've been enjoying a restful day too. A bit of this & that in the house, mixed up some cookie dough - it's now resting in the fridge for a few hours. I've popped out a few times on foot for shoveling excursions & to get cookie ingredients. Soon heading off to have supper - have a 2 for 1 coupon for The Works burger joint nearby - it expires tomorrow so a good excuse to get out on a Saturday night.

For me, Xmas is usually a time of anticipation, a time of reflection, and celebration with friends and family and giving thanks for their presence in my life. A time at work of providing additional support to those who cross my path, be they staff, physicians or patients and their families.

Is the father of the dark lady of time ... a bit insane? Could be cause of temptations to be fixated or institutionalized ...

Honor both the father and mother of sol ... that's the story and I stick to the myth ... like folk lo'er ... lore?

I'D make some cookies too ... but my mate say I am a crum-bi Ur standards ...

For me, the holiday season is a time for gathering with family and friends to share love (ok, I'll be honest and add food) . It is made even more special when there is a young one with shining eyes and a sense of wonder to watch. This year we will be joined by a three year old - I can't think of anything much better than that.

It is a time of being haunted by memories of holidays past and the people who used to be with us and are no longer. Parents, siblings, aunts, uncles many cousins and friends have left this world but live on in my heart.

Today it was also a time for Christmas mystery. We have 5 year old twins who live across the street. Today when their family had all gone away for the afternoon, my husband & I took over a great snowman (made years ago by a friend - from about a 4' section of an old wooden telephone pole) & put it on their porch. They arrived home to that surprise. They came knocking at our door - excitedly pointing it out & wondering if we knew how it got there :-) We kept it's source a Xmas mystery - and they went off quite happily trying to figure it out. I love those little moments.

Having trouble feeling the Christmas spirit. I haven't even been followings Seeler's Jesse tree posts. While pain and recovery has been going ok (yesterday was worse for some reason) having to deal with all of this stuff has gotten me down - along with being on a bunch of meds I'm sure. There's also the disappointment about food restrictions for a few weeks, although it's mostly the snacking kinda stuff.
Trying to find my way back into it. Chemguy has been readying stuff for decorating today. I have a list for cards to get written, hopefully will be finished this weekend while catching up on Seeler's threads for breaks. I'm sure I'll come around by next week.

Chem G-Url ... I sympathize ... I've been struggling with allergies to medical beu ro cracy ... last molars out on topside and my Sinai are still responding ...

Hopefully we can both have some better days next week.

O'Menous ... imagine being satisfied with the world in this insane state ...! Al Beit some would say omi Nous ... an extraction from the pits ... or seed of sol ... goes along with Christmas rye-ness concerning dreams, aspirations and gross fears ...

Will spend Christmas Day with my sister. And of course, the music really makes Christmas come alive for me. Last Sunday went with my sister to her church and the music was wonderful they had a large choir and guest brass section. Tomorrow is the Christmas music Sunday at my church so really looking forward to hearing the old pipe organ sing and all the other music that will be part of the glory and wonder of the Christmas season. :)

We had a great multicultural Christmas celebration at church tonight. Lots of great food (including a whole roasted pig!), friendship and entertainment. Music from Canada, Europe, Phillipines and Kenya. Really good Gospel message from one of our pastors too.

Especially at this time of year, we all have the ghosts of Christmases past, while presently enjoying and anticipating Christmas, the ghosts of Christmas present and future swirl around us - the movie, A Christmas Carol, has meaning for many reasons...perhaps bittersweet at times as we get ready to celebrate. I know this to be true for me - I feel nostalgic which is why I returned here for a bit of time. I am glad to see people dropping in and sharing. In the spirit of WC Christmases past, the fire is burning slowly, and everyone has a seat by the hearth. Celebrations, in real life, change, and sometimes the differences may create melancholy and sadness. But we can know this - we are not alone. And we can feel the happiness of the season, such as tiny twins who come home to discover a snowman on their porch,or celebrating with siblings. or having a beautiful multicultural celebration. or creating a new celebration on Boxing Day; all is meaningful in the spirit of Christmas. Christmas is not only on December 25 - an arbitrary, human created day of celebration- the spirit of Christmas is within all of us, all of the time.

Ah Christmas does bring many memories. The snowman story reminded me of finding a christmas ornament and candy canes in our baby jogger on the front porch when youngest was a toddler. We walked 3 blocks to and from school for the oldest 2-grade and Kindergarten. We got to know many of the folks along our way. I'm sure ornament was from one lady in the row of condos. but I never knew for sure.

Youngest has come to stay for a week. One of my hockey players is not able to go home (flights to Taiwan are expensive and he is headed to New Zealand in Jan to play hockey for Taiwan team). Oldest will be here Christmas weekend (only an hour away I see him most months) and middle-13 hour drive away-a place of sadness in my heart) as I don't expect to hear from them.

Southwestern ontario has been blanketted with snow

What an image. A deep duvet of snow covereing our trees and bushes. Keeping them cozy from the harsh winds

Snow is so deep one of our dogs needed to come in while the bigger ones continue to hike. Hard to hike when you are short

I am looking forward to the next week. Our 35 anniversary and then a quiet week getting ready for christmas. Made special with the snow

Blessing to all of you
