Is Ontario headed for another Wynne win?

As for my town, we have NDP incumbents in strong positions in two ridings (Peggy Sattler in London West and Theresa Armstrong in London Fanshawe). My riding, London North Centre, seems to be the question mark. With no incumbent (we were represented by retiring cabinet minister Deb Matthews), it's a bit of a tossup. The best known name of the bunch has to be PC Susan Truppe who represented us federally for Harper's final term, but we're traditionally (at least in the time I've lived here) a strong Liberal riding. My son was saying he saw some local polling showing the NDP might even take it for the first time in the riding's history (London North Centre has existed since the fifties apparently) but that was earlier in the campaign. If the NDP take it, that would basically make this city orange for the first I can recall. Both federally and provincially, it's usually been a mix, with either PCs or Liberals in the North and West and NDP in Fanshawe.

With close numbers like that, distribution is going to be very important. A strong vote in the GTA and 905 area is worth more than a strong vote in Central and Southwestern Ontario due to concentration of seats. As you say, this is turning out more interesting than expected, going right back to the PCs choosing Ford.
I have friends and relatives who belong to the PC Party and the common theme I hear from them is a lament that the Party chose Ford over Christine Elliott. Most seem to think (and I agree) that if Elliott were leading the PCs this election would have been a cakewalk for them. Do they have a self-destruct default in that Party?

That dark gnawing sensation ...

You have to wonder given recent campaigns. This is the second time they've turned a potential cakewalk into a battle. And last time, they lost the battle. In the end, I'm no fan of the current incarnation of the PCs (or any incarnation from Harris on) but having an effective second party that is ready and able to take over the reins when the government falters is important and if the PCs are going to keep dropping the ball, then maybe it's time for the NDP to become that party.

At this point, I like the local Green candidate and have been a Green voter for a few elections so I guess Green it is for me.

Vert heh goes ... as a green Ego? Backing the green-green grass system ... Base?

Fundamentally abstract as under the trees ...

I mean, at first blush, this is the election equivalent of getting t-boned at the intersection right next to your house. You're almost home and then all crap breaks loose.

OTOH, with all the crap already flying around the PCs and Doug Ford, will one more smelly pile make any difference?

The timing sure is interesting. I'm guessing it wasn't 'purely coincidental'.

My thought as well. I'm sure Doug and the PCs will try to blame the other parties but I'm thinking it's more along the lines of Renata Ford using the tight election as leverage to get Doug to settle.

Sort of hoping the PCO is taking a lesson from it... maybe next time they'll find a leader who leads, rather than one who panders. The province would be much better off that way.

Religious crazies tipped the scales to Ford for the leadership. Religious crazies don't care what you do because if you pander to them, they will find a way to excuse your behaviour. The rest of the electorate may not. We'll see how all these scandals play out.

Pandering can't be out of it ... due to the common occurrence with authorities ... per say the old adage ... "power corrupts" ... thus extraction of something must occur! Thus intelligence drifts off ...

Religious crazies are not prone to creep and change ... thus the unlearning! Sneaks up on some people that are out there ...

Soooo, Rob Ford's widow is going after Doug and Randy Ford in court. Could this affect the election? Or is it just a sideshow?

Could be both/and rather than either/or.

Time will tell, I guess.

And not much time left to tell.

That said, I don't think that the lawsuit becoming public is going to change PCPO supporter's minds. They have already decided to hold their noses and stand with Ford there is not likely much odium that could ooze off or out of Ford that would compel them to vote differently. And those, not loyal PCPO supporters already have a long enough laundry list to vote against Ford that this really is just way too much icing on a very meager cake.

I am disheartened to hear Doug so swiftly accuse Renata of being an addict when he screamed loudly that Rob was not.

Clearly, there is no love lost among the in-laws.

Sad.

In law there is no such Eire critter ... all is done by protocol ... no thought required ... thus outlander concepts ... rye as a flighty thing ... come and went with a blip!

Authority overindulges in feeling ... without thought ...

People panicked over nothing. Grades ones are taught proper names for genitals. Just like they know the name for nose, and bum, and arm, so too they know the name for penis and Vagina. Ooh. How radical and scary

Really, there are a lot of things to worry about. That is not one of them
i know i know
i hope they know the proper names for vagina/quim/pussy/bearded clam/beaver/c***/killing chamber/Heaven trash can (Erin McGathy)/etc and

penis/bobby/trouser snake/sausage/shlong/skin flute/One-Eyed Snake w a Cataract in its Eye (Robin Williams)

people can get soooo in knots over these things

I'm tempted to post a certain Monty Python song here. :D

Yeah, we may as well teach them the proper names early because they'll know all the slang by high school.
