OTOH , Poilievre still seems to be running against Trudeau and his criticisms of the RCMP and assertion that they covered up for Trudeau even has some of his own party questioning his leadership. He needs to focus on Carney and drop the past. The RCMP investigated and found no basis for laying charges so unless he has clear, smoking gun evidence of a cover up, he should probably move on. Fighting old battles is not what will win the next election.

Honestly Trump’s made such a mess in such a short time, even the damage done this year alone will take years to recover from. And Vance will slide into top spot anyway unless there’s reason to impeach him, but they’ve probably got all the possibilities covered so who knows?
 
Isn’t this thread supposed to be about what happens if Trump is not around to hold office? It’s your thread, post whatever you want, but there hasn’t been much discussion about that.

Justin was not cut out to deal with the magnitude of responsibility he needed to accept in this time, that’s all. Carney may be better in some respects but it’s still necessary to keep a critical eye on his policies. I don’t, however, buy into the right wing spin tactics and how they present their concerns.
PP is a snivelly brat - and a petty populist. There’s nothing constructive on offer there. (I am not a big fan of any of them but he’s the worst of them. Trump doesn’t even like him.) Maybe that’s not fair - sounds like he was able to have a good discussion with Carney about things like food prices. I just don’t like his style and I don’t think he’d make a better “statesman”. He doesn’t come across as internally confident and smart enough to be a good world leader. Carney does. But I don’t like some of his policies. That said, I couldn’t do that job.

Justin Trudeau came from a family of career politicians. Mark Carney is a career chief economist with political leanings.

None of these people are intrinsically evil, any more than PP is. Some may have a firmer grasp on global political reality than others.

It's a thread about how Trump seems to dominate as an all encompassing scapegoat for everything that is wrong with the world and how it really does not matter all that much in the grand scheme of things who is sitting up front but what is operating behind the Trump Charade.

s**t happens. Trump is no more evil than Carney then - just two sides of the same global technocratic coup- pretending they are in opposition to enrich themselves further at the expense of their constituents.
 
Life is crap and what do we do to flush it out?

None likes the solution as nothing remains ... nothing being very controversial as it is easily seen through ... clear?
 
If Trump croaks I think that's the end of his "regime"......nobody in his party even has one iota of the "Svengali like" personality that Trump possesses that has lured people to stand by and follow him like they're hypnotized. IMO

Oh not at all, Rita. To be free and clear of all accountability, you just have to create a new identity for yourself. Then you tell everyone you're not the person they were upset with, no matter the obvious matches in timing, beliefs, positions and geographic location.

Subterfuge, Rita. That's what it takes to avoid accountability. Not even good subterfuge. You should try it some time. I bet you'd be just talented enough to pull it off.

He is responsible for much of what’s wrong with the world because he’s in power, making more things wrong at warp speed. He’s also a cumulative symptom of what’s wrong with the world.

As for being the same. No! Personality types matter and Trump is a pathological liar with no conscience about it. Carney is not. Trump was on TV a week ago saying he was not going to touch the existing east wing building for his personal ballroom. Then he said it would only be a portion of it. Now the whole thing is gone. It’s a historic building that belonged to the people - gone, for his own personal interest. On the global affairs scale it may seem small but it is a clear cut example of his authoritarian “king” attitude. He isn’t planning on leaving. Carney is trying his best to work with the guy and preserve Canada but Trump is a beast that can’t be tamed - he can’t hold his promises - he just does what he wants, roughshod. They are not the same. You’re foolish if you can’t see that.

If Trump likes our leader that’s the only hope of being able to negotiate with him. That’s not even working, but if he can’t stand our PM that’s worse for us.

Stop being an ignoramus.

He’s a loose cannon. He’s an extreme narcissist. He’s a different kind of dangerous. He’s lawless and moving toward totalitarianism. Your arguments that he’s the same are fricken ridiculous.
