I'm not a fan of a dog licking my face, but a cat climbing around food prep? That's worse.

In a domain where fiber diet is pushed ... whats wrong with arias?

If the Bell Fibre was more dependable I wouldn't be itch'n so much ...

EX communicant?

OTOH, kids who grow up around critters and a certain amount of dirt are supposed to have stronger immune systems.

If that was the case, my children would be the SuperPeople of Immune Systems, lol.

My mom's first house was on a farm. I think out of the 4 of us in my family her asthma is the worst. Being around extra dirt wouldn't help with something like an immunodeficiency.

I really do like the dogs I like. I met a labradoodle recently that I momentarily wanted to take home.

Labs are the best. I don't see how they could be improved by adding to the mix - except maybe when it comes to sheding hair. Besides their stiff black outercoat, they have a thick undercoat of the soft fluffy hair and seems to be everywhere. What is more their hair is oily.

Labs are beautiful, loyal, eager to please. They are obedient when shown what is expected of them and they are quick to learn. They are reliable and gentle with small children, cats and other pets.
They will eat anything -my lab loved the stems of broccoli or cauliflower. But they can be taught to leave the cats food alone.

They are big enough that they don't need to be coddled, but not too big to live in a small apartment (if they get a walk or run every day). They love the car rides and just being with you.

I think my best dog ever was the black lab, Maggie, who was with us when my children were very small. She was so gentle with them. Even if they tried something foolish, like trying to ride her, the worst she ever did was just walk away from them.

A buddy of my brother back in the late seventies had a lab. Nice dog as I recall.

Another friend of my other brother had a Newfoundland - Labrador cross. Also a nice dog but got her size from the Newfoundland side. Could put her paws on my shoulders and look me in the eye, or damn close to it. His little sister (I used to babysit them) once said said she liked dogs and horses so I joked that they split the difference. At that age, she could probably have ridden this dog.
