Did anyone get White Rabbits? Don't know how much I liked them but I ate them. Kind of tasteless toffee like candy, not overly sweet, like tapioca/ condensed milk flavour - and you could eat the rice paper inner wrapper. That was the intriguing part. They're a popular Chinese candy. I always got a few at Halloween.
I just read that White Rabbit candy was banned a few years ago because it was tainted with melamine (it really does taste like slightly sweetened plastic, as I recall). Then I read that the issue was fixed and it was no longer banned but not sure if that's US or Canada.

Melamine contamination was a huge problem in China a few years back. In particular, the milk supply was badly contaminated. So this does not surprise me at all.

I had to search that. I don't remember seeing it with the labelled wrapper. It was like the kisses in terms of the wrapper sticking (I didn't know it was edible). Those usually got tossed.
It was a different type of wrapper. Two layers of wrapper. The infer one was very thin rice paper.
Now that I've seen some photos - not sure if Kisses were what I was thinking of. They were not solid orange or solid black cellophane wrappers (like I've seen photos of, things called peanut kisses) - they had Halloween designs on them like bats and black cats and witches - but the main colours on the wrapper design - which is a waxy paper, only one layer, but did tend to stick to the candy (so did tootsies) - were black on orange, maybe specked with yellow and white - but mostly orange and black. They looked like dark toffee and tasted like burnt molasses.

Ok, found them. The ones we had were made by Kerr's and called Molasses kisses. I have a strange nostalgic craving for one now.

It was the top ones we used to get too. Often the person giving them would put a number of them together, perhaps with a few other treats, in little paper bags that had Hallowe'en designs on them. The kisses weren't my favorite candies, but eating them was part of Hallowe'en. I'd like to try one now too.
It was once toffee ... and now due to health concerns we eat tofu ... form Asia where they spread melamine all about in anima fude ... thus it was blown as fugacity!

If you are speaking about the HPV vaccine -- get educated.
HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer and approx 80% of women have had it at some time or another. (probably similair stats for men).
If you give a s**t about women's lives, then you would support the vaccine.
And why is this in a thread about Halloween, following a discussion about candy?
