I smoked tobacco for some 40 years. I never dropped a butt on the ground, except to put it out, then pick it up for disposal. It's quite possible; if you can't stand your pockets smelling of your habit (which strikes me as somewhat hypocritical), then carry a small container for your butts.

I seldom used a straw except in a restaurant where it came with the drink. Noww I say 'no straw please' when ordering.

This year I've become aware of how much plastic is used everyday in my household. Saran wrap, plastic storage containers, dishes, peanut better jars, mayonaise jars, jam jars - we reuse a few but most end up in the garbage or recycling. I do have reusable grocery bags (made of plastic I'm quite sure) but I welcome any plastic bags that come into my house because I use them to reline my waste basketss snd kitchen garbage can. Recently I've become annoyed aat the dairy for putting a plastic seal under thee plastic cover on the milk bottles. Completely unnecessary - it is easy to tell if someone has tampered with or openedd the plastic cover the first time.
I don't think I could get through a day without using plastic.

It is a force beyond individual reckoning ... the powers are responsible ... but they know not ... as power corrupts thought ... a lesser power demanding restive times ... hard during industrial periods ... keeps one too busy to process ...
