"darling?"

So I ask again (for the 2nd time n this thread) are those pushing to defund basic and preventative health care for women who often have no other choices (Because federal funding is barred from funding abortion services) planning to step in and provide those services? OR would they rather people not get health care and end up costing the system more as a result?

Not seriously. Satire can reach a listening audience though. Right?
although in a world where many post such links not realizing they are in fact satire not owning that it is satire in the post leaves you open to looking really foolish

Rejecting that abortion is, "basic and preventative health care for women..."

Except The Babylon Bee is a well-known satire site Gord.

Unfortunately people seem to only see the abortion part of Planned Parenthood and miss the rest of the things they do. Helping women access abortions is only a small part of their role. I doubt you will get an intelligent answer to this question

Abortion, besides being a major theme in this thread, is what Planned Parenthood is chiefly known for.

What is the exact number of abortions required, Northwind, before the killing of the unborn becomes wrong?

I was going to ignore you Jae because your information is nonsense. Prove to me there is fact to what you say and I will consider that you might be using more than just propaganda.

Abortion is how they make money. They don't get paid to counsel women out of it.

I'll work on that for you Northwind. Still waiting for your answers to a couple of questions I've recently asked you.

And so is the Onion and so is the Beaverton and This is That on CBC. And I regularly see people thinking those stories (from all four) are not satire-- both those who post and those who read the post.

I don't see that.

I never said it was. I asked what measures are being taken to ensure that those services (which are funded by federal $$$ whereas abortion is not and can not be) are being replaced by those who shortsightedly take them away from people who need them. The majority of what PP does is not abortion provision.

Abortion is how they make money. They don't get paid to counsel women out of it.
Abortion is one service they provide (of many and one NOT FUNDED BY FEDERAL FUNDING). They get paid to allow women to know what their options are and to help them through whatever decision they make--not to drive patients to one or the other.

How many of the women who they counsel go on to choose against abortion?

I have worked with women who face unplanned pregnancies. Some have discussed their options with me. Not all chose abortion. I have worked with women who chose to place their baby for adoption or who have chosen to parent their baby. Contrary to the sources you seem to look for that support your uninformed view of unplanned pregnancies, allowing a woman to make a choice for HERSELF and her baby, sometimes with the father involved, actually reduces the number of abortions. I thought that was what you want.

I have never seen such statistics posted. How many of them choose to abort> How many choose adoption? How many choose to become parents? I challenge you (since you brought it up) to see if those stats can be found. [I suspect they have not been published]

I feel that's something for you to do Gord. Happy hunting.

SO you really don't care to know (I don't in fact care to know or not and so have no reason to waste time looking). Fine with me.

In point of fact I have a colleague and FB friend in the US who used to work for PP. From FB posts and earlier blogposts of hers I have a sense that the vast majority of her time was not involved in abortion services. I am still wondering who wants to step in and provide all those other services (which include cancer screening, and birth control [which seems a key piece for those who really want to make abortion rarer] and general health services). Just to help us know what we are talking about, here is the link to the PP website:
