Defunding & Investigating Planned Parenthood

I have never seen such statistics posted. How many of them choose to abort> How many choose adoption? How many choose to become parents? [I suspect [such statistics] have not been published]

I wonder if they would be relevant at all. Take one woman or one family who visits them and eventually decides to keep and raise their child, is it because of information provided by Planned Parenthood or was it what they had in mind anyways. And in the latter case, what if the visit to Planned Parenthood provided additional information on resources available? And then take the opposite scenario.

If we were to look for statistics, I think the only statistic that would be relevant would be the number of people that changed their mind one way or the other because of Planned Parenthood. And that is obviously an impossible statistic to tally.

I wouldn't be surprised if planned parenthood kept some of those stats @mgagnonlv . The women I've met have been on the fence. Their first response to think of an abortion, probably because that would be easy and would be as of the pregnancy never happened. I've never met a woman who made the decision easily. They struggle with taking a life. When they realize they have other choices and sometimes support of family or friends, they chose to continue the pregnancy.

People who would say that Planned Parenthood promotes abortions do not want people to know there's far more to the story. That's not nearly as dramatic as the "murdering babies" angle. Anyone who thinks an unplanned pregnancy is easy is fooling themselves.

SO you really don't care to know (I don't in fact care to know or not and so have no reason to waste time looking). Fine with me.

In point of fact I have a colleague and FB friend in the US who used to work for PP. From FB posts and earlier blogposts of hers I have a sense that the vast majority of her time was not involved in abortion services. I am still wondering who wants to step in and provide all those other services (which include cancer screening, and birth control [which seems a key piece for those who really want to make abortion rarer] and general health services). Just to help us know what we are talking about, here is the link to the PP website:

You raised, "They get paid to allow women to know what their options are and to help them through whatever decision they make..." You oughta do the digging.

Abstinence education is unsuccessful. It's not the option that is chosen by young people, anywhere, when the rubber hits the road and the hormones rage.

Abstinence works 100% of the time.

Oh, and some young people absolutely do choose abstinence despite raging hormones.

Yet some abstain from information and education of the sequences leading to the situation no-in as Osh-ite ... gnostic ... and after that it was the river of Stix ... let the shafting and staffing begin ...

I get this vision of that placing of the one caught being lowered slowly into the flames while tied to a guide post ... V' Lad the imp aler't?

ANd good, comprehensive sexuality education includes abstinence as an (and likely the most protective both in terms of pregnancy and STI) option. It also includes information about other options.

Relax with age ID'll mellow ... as a mellon inverting ...

Sometimes I wonder what's going on inside your own mellon inverting. Just kidding. :D

I had a friend in Canada who worked for Planned Parenthood. She certainly spent a lot of her time clearing up some false views held by young people.

Hey Jae-How old were your sons when they became sexually active?
