I do have compassion for those with a phobia, but at some point it just needs to be dealt with. Ignoring dental care because of a fear of needles is a bad idea. Ditto with needed medical testing, treatments.
Some people are having surgeries cancelled, rescheduled, cancelled, rescheduled. Some of them have needle phobias too.

I would guess some pharmacies are accommodating too, depending on supply. Call one at the end of a work week, see if there have doses that can be given that day if scheduling is really causing so much anxiety.
Or get an antianxiety med, not really helpful for the phobia long term, but do it for the short term and then deal with the phobia after.

There are options.

@Mrs.Anteater I do appreciate you too giving encouragement.
I found out some relatives have been avoiding the vaccine - one family plus I suspect a set of parents too, although less known there. 1 got it. The other adult is wanting to wait for something other than mRNA. Why? Dunno. I did share a little sarcastically something about ingredients after a comment about who knows what's in this thing - but that was when the vaccination happened, plus I figured hey, the info in there is still good and their friends may see that, even if it was posted in a different way than I would if someone was honestly concerned and asking.
When I found out the other person isn't going out for the mRNA one I did message privately, offering to get information if it was desired.
There's distance too, so not people I talk to often.
Chemguy was a little harsher with his dad, there was procrastination going on and a bit of lack of planning with medical treatments and timing.

I don’t like needles but you barely feel the vaccine needle. It‘s much less painful that those ones where they extract a whole bunch of blood.

Astrazeneca is available, at least in BC.

There are age restrictions, except for allergies and even then it wouldn't help the 12 year old. My generation doesn't get to choose AZ out of preference. I thought the preference was gone for all age groups now too, although some age groups used to have the choice - they just aren't used for 1st doses at this point unless there's a specific medical reason to not use an mRNA one.

I don't find having blood removed is painful, getting the vein can be though. IVs against a spasming valve hurt, the subcutaneous blood products hurt. Some people used to mention how bad firazyr was, I find the subcutaneous blood products to be way worse. The firazyr pain comes afterwards, almost everyone gets a site reaction from that. And then there are things like arterial draws, haven't gone through that myself.
But yeah, IM, small needle, unless the substance itself is painful

Now you mention it, I think Astrazeneca does have age restrictions. And maybe you can’t get it anymore anyway. It used to be available at drug stores but the supplies were quickly snapped, now you mention it.

. It would be a good to try some of new vaccines. Like the one-shot Johnson vaccine.

It's still available here, but only as 2nd doses or for adults who cannot have Pfizer/Moderna
Yeah, it's unfortunate that the Johnson one had the production problems plus the effectiveness didn't appear as good, although if bumped up to 2 doses like the others may have been better.

You can lead a horse to water…

I wonder if he needs a reality check- they are already short staffed , now he is going to suspend the unvaccinated-
even if that are only five or ten percent of his staff- how does he think they are going to manage? And, seriously, who does he think would like to return to the job under those shortage conditions?
Maybe he should talk to the immigration minister to try to get some keen immigrants here ASAP.

Remember efficiency cuts are critical to the economy even if the economy thinks critically about folks ...

I think of Towering Inferno .... initiated in a cut by the contractor of cabling costs ... bad cabals? Thus disconnects ...

The phobia of God is said to be the start of wisdom in one tradition ... there are variants!

Imagine being afraid of everything ... and thus one wouldn't learn much... Can you imagine some power using fear to maintain folk like sheep?

That's a whole different world apart from an observing one ... yet allows one to watch and not hard anything --- Hippocrates! Prior to that there was Ammon who stated one had to heal the sol to repair body and emotional deviations ... monstrous responsibility!

Some would like to lead this effort without a clue ... just for the celebrity thing! You name "M" ... I'm sure you've seem them! Perhaps you were not aware of the situation presented? May draw some phlegm ... goop like mitochondrial matter ... said by some to represent the mother genes ...

However it could explain the fuzz passing the moon in the dead of night ... misty?

Thank you ChemGal for posting this. I copied it to my FB page.
I'm happy the province is putting out information like this.
I would like to see one for long COVID as well, I think even with being vaccinated going out and being in groups is too high of a risk, more details would be nice.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will now be named Comirnaty, the Moderna vaccine will be named SpikeVax, and the AstraZeneca vaccine will be named Vaxzevria.

Sorry, copied on my phone and didn't copy the link.

More confusion added....ah well.

And there are people that declare that nothing changes ... a conservative view about wrongs and corruptive interests that may be picked up by all other parties for all we know about what they do in their shadowy states!

Is there an alternate? Then one is considered excluded ... at least from the field of polity and a stant alone ... for a bit ... ET X's? Tick ide Bo ...

Do you know anyone who has had reactions to the vaccine? My son who is in his early 30's received his second vaccine. He noticed that his asthma was flared up the day after so he took his meds for that. Three days later I got a text from him saying that he was in hospital. What he thought was asthma was actually shortness of breath and the third day he had bad chest pains. The hospital did tests, gave him meds and told him that the heart muscle was inflamed. They kept him overnight and finally released him late the next day. He had to take it easy for 2 weeks and stay home from work. He is taking heart meds for 3 months. He also had to take another medication because the heart meds were causing an acid reflux type of reaction that could lead to ulcers if not caught. He said he feels ok but he just started back to work this week. Apparently this is rare but it does happen. My son does have allergies to food and medication but he checked with the family doctor before he went for the vaccine.

Sorry your son had a negative reaction to the vaccine. I have heard of this rare one - and I'm glad it remains rare.

Someone on my FB page claimed that a friend's arm instantly turned black and had to be amputated after their shot. Somehow this strikes me as an urban legend!

@wrdwrytr my son and his partner, both under 30, were ill after both shots but didn't have the pericarditis. Glad to hear your son got over it
