All these "late" vaccines is making me start my own conspiracy theory in my head.....like is there something you're "fixing" Pfizer and Moderna?

Why? We have known for months that there were many vaccine projects underway and some would take longer than others. It is actually shaking out pretty much as I expected. A few right out of the gate, a few falling by the wayside (e.g Sanofi), many taking time to get there. And one the virtues of mRNA is that it is supposed to be easy to "patch" to deal with mutations or problems found during use. Moderna is already tweaking to with the South African and UK variants better. So there is no need for new vaccines to deal with shortcomings in them. Shortcomings in their processes leading to supply chain issues are another whole issue...:cautious:

I do think it's problematic this company wasn't funded better earlier. It wouldn't be a solution all on it's own, considering where they were starting from they couldn't do the full supply for Canada, but it would have helped get us a bit further ahead.

Already, anti-vaccination groups are blaming patients’ reactions on COVID shots, even while there is no direct link.

Norway made international headlines this month after revealing that more than 30 people — all over 70 and all already sick — died shortly after being vaccinated against COVID-19. Norway Prime Minister Erna Solberg said in an interview with Bloomberg Live that the country may no longer give vaccines to the most vulnerable of the elderly “because that might speed up a process where they were, what we would say, at the end-of-life phase anyway.”

But no matter how old or how sick ... a Covid Death is just a Covid Death ... because the science.

That's just not true. Sometimes COVID deaths aren't added in right away and are mentioned after more information has been discovered. Other times, what initially appeared to be a death due to COVID ends up removed from that count as it's discovered that while the patient did have the illnesses their death was due to another cause.
 
Of course not. We're not vaccinating those infected. This was every patient, and most of the staff, infected.. Roberta Place, Barrie, Ontario.

This is appalling, rita, how this is playing out. Mary A was an old square dancing chum of my Mom's. Otherwise dead healthy, long time complete lack of 'filter' (it was totally hilarious; once Jack died she could, and DID, say whatever the hell she thought). She might be in a better place, but she's also dead, and she was a real sturdy old farm girl.

In many circumstances, residents are also left without basic care, hygiene, food and water. This is a human rights violation.

Despite all of this, the Ontario government passed legislation to make it harder for families to seek justice for the tragic loss of loved ones by raising the threshold for liability of wrongdoing for LTC operators, many which are private and for-profit [10,11]. We are also concerned to learn from media reports that the Ontario government has delayed the Commission’s efforts by delaying release of documents to the commission and impeding their work [12].

Rita, you're pissing me off.

In one post, you're asking if people at Roberta Place were vaccinated, with quotes, as if that were the cause.
In the next, you're re-posting earlier info from Doctors for Justice which includes recommendations for strict, early vaccination programs.

So, just, do tell, where do your confused opinions lie? How about a bit of sympathy for Mary A., the unfiltered, and not sick.

Look I am just as confused as anyone ... it is damn near impossible to find a straight answer about anything let alone any consensus.
The doctors for justice added the need to vaccinate. That was their opinion not mine.
There were vaccinations done in Roberta Place on January 21, I do not know how many ... nor do I know how many residents they have.
Why do you get pissed off at me for asking questions.
I have been nothing but critical of the lack of transparency around LTC homes.
I am outraged that people are dying under these inhumane conditions.
I cry myself to sleep just thinking about it. The vulnerable are the ones paying the highest price and I want to see it end.
Enough is Enough.

You really have no idea how compassionate I am ... I have spent hours and hours crying helplessly about the way that the vulnerable have been abused by these emergency measures ... to the point that I think I would rather die than have to witness any more of it without being able to make a difference. I do not live in a vacuum ... I live in a nightmare of not knowing how to help. Were I allowed I would spend as much time as I could in LTC settings. I volunteered to do just that and I was denied 'entrance' as I am supposedly a vulnerable person myself. I would wear a hazmat suit if that is what it took for me to help out. I am crying in frustration right now and I will leave this here.
 
Your argumentation resembles that of Trumps- you post an anti-mask, anti-vaccination, anti- government attitude and then you turn around and say stuff like that:

Other people do not see any logic in that. One can’t be against government influence and then cry for government to do something. Its an easy stance to blame others. You could help be not spreading false information, for once.
 
Why are we fretting this immaterial thing called a concept of right or wrong when without intelligence we cannot conjure up such nonsense ... it was writ in the book that Jesus would salvage us by lifting the lighter parts out of the crap we've gotten into ...
