. Right now, my focus is getting some machines into people's hands so they can join sessions and talk to people.
I've felt like i was juggling an awful lot, and sometimes, i wonder what it would be like to not take on anything, and just read a book, or sit in the backyard for days on end.
and that last bit, is what makes me wonder, am i coping.
This pandemic has revealed to me just how much extra pressure is on the most capable and practical folks in our communities - folks like you, Pinga.....
I would love to have a Pinga in my apartment complex -someone who could just take my laptop, set in up for Skype and Zoom, and show me how to work the damn thing! (My niece's husband remotely took over my laptop -determined the microphone wasn't working -and sent me a microphone that was usb plug and play. Now I've ordered a webcam -as my laptop camera is no good..... I just hope it comes -as I've already been scammed when I ordered face masks. )
The Pinga in my complex isn't that capable with computers - but she drives us all to doctors, gets in shopping, rings us up -especially those that are very elderly and have complex health needs. The rest of us do what we can for each other -but the reality is that she is capable of doing so much more.
Like you Pinga, she is juggling an awful lot, so I will be more mindful of the extra load she is carrying.
My suggestion? Take a day out a week to sit in the sunshine, listen to the birds and other nature sounds and relax -knowing that many ar grateful for the Pinga's of this world..
