Well I can honestly say I hardly know the guy, and I'm pretty sure most Canadians can say the same thing.(wierd news title..."...Canada's Trudeau")

Lol, me too!!!The only thing is, I keep wanting to call him "Art Carney"
Goes into the Liberal's war chest for the upcoming election. That's a pretty normal practice for leadership campaigns to put pressure on the candidates to fundraise for the party. Just that the amounts were much, much higher than usual for this one.I wonder what happened to the $350 000 each of the ones who didn’t win- that’s a big entrance fee and was likely not all spent in the run..
I am one of the ones who is fairly familiar with his career and I'm not totally sold on him as PM either. Given his economics background, he'd make a helluva finance minister, but not sure he's ever shown the qualities we need in an actual leader. Guess we will find out soon enough. There's lots of speculation he'll pull the trigger soon rather than waiting for the opposition to topple him when Parliament resumes.Well I can honestly say I hardly know the guy, and I'm pretty sure most Canadians can say the same thing.
I would have felt better with Trudeau in this crazy political atmosphere, but here we go.
And PP never will be an option for my vote down the road.
I really hope he makes himself known publicly too, he seems like an introvert, but that's just a guess .....because I haven't seen him much.Nice to hear you say our new PM is a "youngin", given he and I are the same age(though his birthday is coming up soon and is before mine so he'll be older for a month and a half).

Introverts are fine, but I'm not sure it translates well for someone that is required to be a public figure and often requiring being outspoken.....grated one hopes theyre saying worthwhile things.Problem is, anyone looks like an introvert in comparison to the bombasts to the south of us...
Besides, what's wrong with introverts? They don't have a compulsion to fill silence with meaningless noise, to start.
I have spoken in front of congregations sometimes knowing few if any of those present, quite forthrightly. For me, my introversion tends to show in more intimate social situations. I hate crowded rooms and social scenes like parties and certain types of meetings. I would rather be in my rec room with a few family and friends than in a bar or big social event. I feel uncomfortable and de-energized in situations like that. And even with people I know, it often takes me a while to "gear up" to speak or address the room.Introverts are fine, but I'm not sure it translates well for someone that is required to be a public figure and often requiring being outspoken.....grated one hopes theyre saying worthwhile things.
Okay but I'm talking about the "political" atmosphere today.....and to be honest I don't even know if Carney is an introvert.....I just haven't seen much about him, other than his steller banking banking resume.....that part's good.I have spoken in front of congregations sometimes knowing few if any of those present, quite forthrightly. But I am quite okay speaking my mind in front of a room. I have not really done so in a while but that's because the opportunity has not presented itself. Most of the time these days, I am just speaking at smaller work meetings with people I am fairly comfortable with. But if I was in a new job, that could be quite different. I am now coming up on 26 years with this employer and some of my colleagues and co-workers, including 3 of the 4 senior team members, have similar or more longevity so I know this bunch quite well.
Queen Elizabeth wasn't elected and quite frankly her speeches were lovely but I'm talking about another arena with competition.Queen Elizabeth II was clearly an introvert, as have been other public figures. It does not mean that you are incapable of being outspoken; it's just that it's something you have to balance out, from an energy POV. And I'd argue that the non-compulsion to fill silence makes it slightly more likely that the introvert suppresses the less worthwhile things that go through everyone's brains.
I'm just talking about the ability to sell oneself in this fickle world....but yes agree with what you're dissection. So can one be an extrovert and shy do people think?
Realzing that the terms Extrovert and Introvert were invented by influential German Swiss Psychologist Psychotherapist Psychiatrist Carl Jung, who believed in the immaterial and other neat things
Here are some simple definitions from him
"....attitude-type characterised by orientation in life through subjective psychic contents"
--Introversion
"...an attitude-type characterised by concentration of interest on the external object..."
--Extroversion or Extraversion
He saw it as a spectrum, so higher in one meant lower in the other
Oh yeah that is an interesting pointQueen Elizabeth wasn't elected and quite frankly her speeches were lovely but I'm talking about another arena with competition.
And yes, yes of course substance over not, even if one's an introvert....but why can't we have both an outgoing person open to dialogue and knowledgable with relevant things to say? It's time to get more young people voting.
