"The appearance of Jesus matters because it cuts to the heart of his message. However he is depicted in film and art today, he needs to be shown as one of the have-nots; his teaching can only be truly understood from this perspective."

From ninjafaery's link.

I think, when we vote, we need to pretend that we are "have nots". If I were thinking from that perspective, I see no choice but NDP.

But I don't think Jesus necessarily meant that "have nots" meant they had no money did he?

“Jesus the Candidate” ...

Jesus as he passionately lays out his platform straight from the Gospels:

“In my administration, everyone who has two coats will give one to those who have none. I will work tirelessly for the forgiveness of all, no matter what the offense. My cabinet will include the meek, the peacemakers, the poor in spirit, and the pure of heart, to name a few. Together we will build a world where all the hungry will be fed, all strangers will be welcomed, and the first shall be last! Who’s with me?”

(Insert cheering crowd?/ Insert jeering crowd?)

We've gone from will there be an election election, to possible new Liberal leadership candidate, to a woman in a red dress, to fashion in parliament, to Jesus, to Jesus in ath-leisure wear, to Jesus for PM. :)

A levity break. I was reminded of someone else who quoted a Chris Rock joke:

That’s how Trump became president. We got rid of bullies. A real bully showed up and nobody knew how to handle him. s**t. The cast of The Apprentice is running the world. Trump, the daughter, Omarosa — they run the world, man. Yo, this s**t is crazy. A lot of people are like, “Well, Trump’s a bad person. He’ll get his.” You know, some people never get theirs. Some people just fail up. People are like, “What goes around, comes around.” No, it don’t. Sometimes, it’s just keeps goin’ around. Ain’t nothin’ gonna happen to Trump. Nothing’s gonna happen to Trump. Here’s the crazy thing — it just might work out. Trump might work out. I said it. Trump might work out. Think about it this way. Bush was so bad, he gave us Obama. You forget that s**t, don’t ya? Bush was so bad, people said, “Maybe this black guy has the answers.” I think people overlook George Bush’s contributions to black history. George Bush is a black revolutionary. Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, George Bush. They need to honor him at the Essence Festival. It might work out. Trump might work out. Bush was so bad, he gave us Obama. Trump’s so bad, he’ll give us Jesus. “Jesus, what you doin’ here?” “You seen Trump? This s**t is serious.”

With all of us rounding out ... is it the great wheel defined by Ezekiel? Best seen at night while un conscience is stirring ...

And there are plenty of lonely people for whom money can't buy what they need. Especially now. It can't buy real love and companionship or fulfilling social engagement - particularly if they're really shut-in.

There are plenty of things people might need in this world that they "have not" and need help with. The more I think of it the more non-material things come to mind.

Generally speaking, having money can help take care of several things - someone who can hire staff to do things they are not able to do, for example. Money can't buy wisdom though. That's something every demographic can lack in and can't even be taught. Not even Jesus could teach it to everybody, not with his words, even to those who have memorized the bible.

Now, whether there actually exists a category that could be defined as "well AND wealthy" is another thread, which is currently on-going.

I feel like she knew about this conspiracy theory already.

Once a thing is repeated without decent information ... does it go on and on?

Reconsider things emerging from polity and politicos ... bipolar bifurcations?

Sometimes it does. I just doubt she didn’t know about the conspiracy theory angle. O’Toole just said he can’t define systemic racism, but racism is bad and shouldn’t be tolerated. So, she apologized in a hurry, just in case.

On a more optimistic note...Maybe her apology will help put a stop to that conspiracy theory and educate people who are naive about it.

Can dark plots and agendas be imagined under the labelled para Nohia? What is the greatest fear in social humanity ... the separation of intellect and emotions?

From there loss of thought may occur ... and mindless passions as a great power ... No*ah's inclusive on the pool ... sailing over the wine dark sea!

Bumping this since tomorrow is the throne speech. Apparently Trudeau is looking to get airtime for a major speech tomorrow night. Not sure if this is related to the throne speech or to the escalating COVID situation in many provinces. I guess we will see.

I'm still not seeing much stomach for an election from the opposition, esp. now that two of their leaders are sidelined after positive COVID tests. So I don't think we'll see this throne speech triggering an election. After all, Trudeau only needs one of the three largest opposition parties to vote with the Liberals to avoid it.

The question becomes, what happens after that? What about this mystery speech tomorrow night? Is Trudeau going to trigger the vote himself in hopes of getting a majority?

With one provincial election our east recently, and one in BC for Oct. 24, plus the ongoing circus in a neighboring country, it does seem to be the season for it. I'm sort of hoping the next federal election will wait until at least the spring.
